Tyson Japanese Canteen Salmon Donburi π£ Sea Urchin Sashimi
Right downstairs from the metro station, this Japanese spot is perfect for after work β so close and so delicious! The salmon sashimi donburi is absolutely mouthwatering! One serving feels like it could fill you up more than three or four plates elsewhere! The nine-piece sashimi platter is also super fresh! Iβve heard some people say the portions are smallβ¦ but when it arrived, it was huge! Whoβs spreading these rumors? Hahaha! I even took it home and had another meal the next day! If you have a small appetite, donβt order too much! 1οΈβ£ Taste Of Umi πππππ This menu item apparently changes! Lately, itβs been Maine sea urchin (pretty sweet with no odd taste! Some other Japanese places Iβve been to had stale sea urchin!). Special mention to their tuna β it literally melts in your mouth with a rich, fatty texture! First time Iβve ever had it like this! They also have a fried dish that might have sea urchin in it β super yummy! I thought it was fried pork chop with cheese, but it turned out to be seafood flavored! 2οΈβ£ Eel Lovers πππβ¨ The portion is thick and substantial! I wanted to order their signature unagi rice, but the owner recommended this instead, saying itβs quite similar. It was really good! They didnβt skimp on the ingredients just because itβs a smaller dish. 3οΈβ£ Sake Don ππππβ¨ Salmon donburi! There are four types of salmon sashimi, the belly is a bit oily, the semi-cooked one is just right, crispy outside and tender inside, with a little bit of spicy salmon salad on top! 4οΈβ£ Takoyaki πππ The octopus balls are pretty standard, but they give a lot of bonito flakes! Hahaha, I love bonito flakes! Who else gets it? #SavorTheFlavor #JapaneseCuisine #dmvfoodie #dmvfoodandfun #dmvfood #dmv #DMV #WashingtonDCFood #DCFoodExploration #dmvweekendplans
