U.S. | NOLA β Eating Nonstop π½οΈβ¨
1οΈβ£ Big EZ Seafood and Oyster πππππ First meal off the plane! Tried both locations β liked the one near the airport best. Their boiled seafood broth is lighter but deeply flavorful, not overloaded with spice powder like some others. Happy hour starts at 2 PM β fresh oysters were plump and juicy! π¦ͺ 2οΈβ£ Zesty Creole πππ My first jambalaya in NOLA β way too salty π . Tried it at a few other spots later, still salty. Honestly, the best jambalaya Iβve ever had was at a seafood joint in Key West, Miami! 3οΈβ£ Turkey and the Wolf ππππ Recommended by our Airbnb host. The vibe is quirky-recycled-punk: McDonaldβs kidsβ meal trays, cereal bowls for fries, baseball caps for ice cream, β90s dolls as lamp decor. Sandwiches and burgers are wild combos but surprisingly tasty! ππ€ 4οΈβ£ Boil Seafood House (Magazine Street) πππ Their boil broth is heavy on spice powder, and seafood portions felt a bit small. Loved the mango slushie (I got the non-alcoholic version). π₯ 5οΈβ£ Royal House Oyster Bar ππππ Only tried the chargrilled oysters and grilled fish β both were hits! π₯ 6οΈβ£ Cafe du Monde πππππ Beignets (French donuts) are delicious! Look like fried dough, taste like sugar-dusted youtiao. The City Park location is easy to park at and not too crowded in the morning β we had breakfast there three times! Their cafΓ© au lait is the best I tried in NOLA (better than PJβs, Cafe Beignet, Le Petit Bleu, and Cafe Fleur De Lis). ββ€οΈ 7οΈβ£ Le Petit Bleu ππ A cafΓ© across from the cemetery β went in for the cute exterior and cozy interior. Coffee was just okay, but the place is pretty. 8οΈβ£ CafΓ© Fleur De Lis - French Quarter ππππ Corner spot with a balcony. Pancakes and biscuits were great β so filling! Food gets 3 stars, but the little balcony breakfast experience earns an extra star. πΈ 9οΈβ£ Clover Grill πππ Thankful they were open on Christmas Day for a hearty breakfast! Classic old-school American diner β food was decent. #NOLA #NewOrleans #FoodDiary #EatAllTheThings π·π€π©
