I would like to preface this review by stating we are from Washington state. This was our first stop out of the airport and it did not disappoint at all! The atmosphere gave sports bar vibes with hometown/state love and representation which was cool. We enjoyed the murals and the themed rooms. Our waitress was nice, a little quiet and thorough. Our only hiccup was that I only wanted a cup of gumbo and instead got a bowl with grilled cheese. She checked in on us regularly and checked us out in a timely matter. I got a spicy bloody red dress Mary which was very spicy in the best way, the pickled green beans really added to it, next time I’d order it as a double to balance out the strong flavor. The gator bites were perfectly battered, crunchy and chewy, paired with the Cajun mayo they were delicious. Fireball shrimp were an amazing balance of sweet, spicy and sticky with perfect cooked shrimp! The traditional gumbo had a ton of protein (shrimp, chicken and sausage), personally I needed some added citrus because it’s a very rich and savory dish but overall great. The crawfish etouffee was very creamy, rich seafood flavor with some crawfish chunks, I really enjoyed it however my boyfriend’s grandpa was sadly disappointed. I will say this was my first time trying it while he’s had a few others in the past. The seafood basket was pretty good overall, the 3 of agreed the catfish was a bit too soft for our liking but the breading was light and crispy and the tartar sauce paired well. Now, the seafood boil was one of the best I have ever tried. We got the bayou self basket with the hot saigonese house flavor. You could immediately get the lemongrass and kumquat flavors and it was definitely spicy which I love in my boils. The crab were great size with meat that slid out pretty easily after cracking, the shrimp cooked perfectly, sausage that complimented the rest. The corn was a little overcooked but still a great vehicle for the sauce. The eggs weren’t over boiled and the potatoes weren’t too hard or soft. Overall I would eat here again and I would 100% recommend...

Big EZ is located right off of Williams Boulevard, not far from 1-10 or most area hotels in Kenner. It's a colorful place, with dining room selections such as The LSU Room (my personal favorite), Saints Room, Crab Room, and the Crawfish Room. The bright paintings are lively and add a great Louisiana vibe – those things we love dearly: LSU, the Saints, and seafood!
The food is excellent. Customer service is outstanding. You're greeted at the door by a hostess that seats you. Again, I usually ask to be seated in the LSU Room if tables aren't full. I'm an LSU girl and enjoy the Joe Burrow/Coach O depictions. Servers are knowledgeable about menu and drinks and offer great selections if you're unsure of what to order. For starters, I recommend the charbroiled oysters, the dirty fries and the crab cakes . Can't go wrong with either one. Oysters are heavenly! Add blackened shrimp to the Dirty Fries and your taste buds will thank you. The po boys are wonderful & are available in half or whole size. The shrimp are loaded between French bread, tomatoes, pickles, and a delicious spicy mayo. The mayo is a treat in itself. The fried alligator is great, too. I haven't ordered one bad thing here. Naturally, any of the boiled seafood selections goes down well. The drink menu works, too! I prefer Stella Artois with my po boy and I love the large frozen drinks. It's a fun place with large screen tvs in every room. For the sports fanatic who'd rather watch the game with a beer or two, the Big EZ has a full service bar with tvs in every direction. The beers are cold and the games are always on. Get yourself to the Big EZ. We eat here often — dine in or take-out. Parking lot is small, but you can easily park across the street. Free parking.

Read moreAll of the food tasted delicious! Our server Erin was really nice and informative about our order. Not to mention, the decorum looked beautiful with wall paintings of everything that represents Louisiana (seafood, LSU & Saints football, & homages to Vietnamese fishermen who work on boats at Empire).
We ordered their “Pick 3” Boiled Seafood Basket option with Crawfish, Snow Crabs, Mussels, Boiled Eggs, Sausage, & Potatoes. The “Pick 3” option gave us an extra 1 lbs of crawfish. For the basket, we went with the Cajun Citrus option, which added a nice tangy taste to the basket! The only issue I really had was that they didn’t put the price on the menu beforehand, so I was a bit shocked to find out that the entire basket costed $84.00. I didn’t mind paying for it, but I wished they would’ve let us know how much it costed before we ordered it. Although it tasted really good, I also feel like they should’ve added a bit more seafood in the basket since it was $84.00, but that’s just me personally.
We also got additional side plates, such as their famous Garlic Noodles ($5.99), Garlic Fries ($4.99), & Bread Pudding for dessert ($8.50). In contrast to the seafood basket, these plates had the price on the menu beforehand and were definitely worth the price in my opinion. The garlic noodles weren’t too salty and had the right amount of flavor to it! So did the garlic fries. The bread pudding was fried to perfection and was perfectly topped off with vanilla ice cream at the top.
If it wasn’t for the overpriced seafood basket, I would’ve given this review 5 stars. Aside from that, I’d recommend this place if you’re a seafood lover and love a Cajun...
