U.S. Study Abroad Road Trip | Little Rock, Arkansas
Finally made it to Little Rock! 🎉 Whether you call it Little Rock , it’s the same lovely place ~ Highly recommend staying downtown – we checked into the Hampton Inn & Suites Little Rock-Downtown and loved the convenience! 🏙️ 🍽️ Food & Vibe Spots Dugan’s Pub – A lively Irish pub with live music! 🎶 Must-tries: Irish Poutine (fries + mushrooms + bacon + melted cheese 🧀), Beer Battered Mozzarella Sticks, and Bangers & Mash (sausages + mashed potatoes) – so comforting and delicious! Copper Grill – Recommended by locals 👌 Dizzy’s Gypsy Bistro – Also a local favorite! 🏛️ Must-Visit Sites Little Rock Central High School National Historic Site Closed on Sundays. Usually $10 entry 🎟️, but free if you have an annual pass! This site honors the Little Rock Nine – nine Black students who bravely enrolled in the then all-white high school in 1957, challenging racial segregation 🫡. Across the street, there’s what looks like an old gas station (not sure if it’s abandoned though 😄). The school is still maintained today, and at its heart lies a tiger mascot donated by the Class of 1962. It’s surreal to think – those students would’ve graduated around 1970, and here I am, Class of 2024… we’re literally from different centuries! 🐯✨ Old State House Museum William J.
