UAE Journey|Exploring Sharjah
🕌️ Sharjah, the third largest emirate in the UAE, is known for its rich cultural heritage. As the cultural capital of the UAE, it’s not only an ideal destination for exploring history and culture but also a vibrant city full of modern art. You’ll rarely see many tourists in the city — perfect for an in-depth UAE experience 🥰 Introverts’ paradise! 🧡 Getting Around Sharjah 🚗 I opted for a self-drive right after landing — super convenient, no need to carry luggage around. Picked up the car at Dubai Airport and drove one hour to settle in Sharjah. The view outside my hotel window 🪟 Selected Attractions: ❶ One of Sharjah’s most unique art installations — Rain Room 🌧️ A magical space where technology and art blend perfectly — walk in the rain but stay completely dry! Created by the London-based art collective Random International, the Rain Room was permanently installed in 2018 with the support of the Sharjah Art Foundation. Located in Al Majarrah Park in the Al Majarrah area, it’s the first and only Rain Room in the Middle East. Limited parking spots available — pure luck! 😆🙃 I was lucky and found a spot after just two rounds. Tickets 🎫 can be purchased on-site. If it’s not crowded, you might even get in without waiting. ❷ One of Sharjah’s most iconic cultural landmarks — Sharjah Museum of Islamic Civilization 🏛️ The museum is located along Sharjah’s beautiful waterfront. It was originally a traditional souk (market) and was carefully restored and transformed before opening to the public in 2008. The museum includes multiple galleries: Islamic Faith & Science Islamic Art Ancient Coins Calligraphy & Manuscripts The dome is absolutely stunning 🤩🤩 Exquisite mosaic patterns depict the zodiac signs and astronomical symbols — a perfect blend of architecture and art. 🎨🕌 #UAETravel #CulturalSites #TravelDiaries #SharjahEmirate #Sharjah #Dubai #IslamicCivilizationMuseum #RainRoom
