UCI Dining Recommendation|Yigah 🍲

This was one of my go-to hidden gems during my UCI days!!! Their potato pork bone soup, beef rib soup, spicy beef stew, and Korean-style fried pork cutlet were my regular orders — never disappointed!! Huge portions and so tasty (especially the meat — always too much to finish!). I’d go every other week. Located in DJ Plaza, super close to campus! After class, you could eat and then stroll around the plaza — miss those student times 👩🏻‍🎓 🥘 Maeun Sogalbijjim (Spicy Braised Pork Ribs) Tastes almost identical to Sun Nong Dan, but with pork ribs! The pot is packed with ribs — enough for four people. The pork ribs are even more tender and flavorful than beef — definitely give it a try! 🐖 Gamjatang (Potato Pork Bone Soup) My absolute favorite!! Mash the potatoes into the broth while it’s hot — you instantly get creamy potato mash to mix with rice! So much meat, fall-apart tender. Mixed with potato mash and rice? SO. GOOD. Portions are massive — enough to take home for another meal. 🥩 Tonkatsu Korean Style (Korean Fried Pork Cutlet) This cutlet is HUGE — like twice the size of your face 😂 I never finish it, but I always order it because it’s just that good. 🐂 Galbitang (Beef Rib Soup) Also loaded with meat. My go-to when my stomach feels off — light, comforting, perfect over rice. 💡 Their sizzling octopus rice is also highly recommended (didn’t order this time). The kind of dish you crave if you haven’t had it in a while 🤤 I love scraping the crispy rice crust from the hot plate — the best part!! 📍 Yigah 2750 Alton Pkwy, Unit 105 Irvine, CA 92606 #KoreanFood #WarmComfortFood #WinterEats #IrvineEats #Irvine #IrvineKoreanFood #IrvineFoodGuide #UCIFoodie 🍚🔥✨
