šµ Uji, Matcha Lovers Unite!
š Nakamura Tokichi Byodo-in Branch (Don't navigate to the main store) Be prepared to queue up at lunchtime! It's crowded, and it takes about 50 minutes to prepare the meals! You can order on the self-service machine and then take a stroll around the nearby Byodo-in Temple before returning. After 2 PM, the crowd thins out significantly. Some drinks are available for take out directly! If you don't want to wait for the second-floor view, you can enjoy your trip and come back for take out, then snap photos outside on the first floor. šøļø The perfect spot for photos is by the second-floor windows, where many young ladies from China visit. You can politely ask one of these kind-hearted ladies to save a spot in line, and take turns snapping photos. š¹ļø Personally, I find the Uji River more picturesque than the Kamo River, with its larger volume and wider expanse. Uji is also conveniently accessible by train from Kyoto Station on the JR Nara Line directly to Uji Station, or by tram in about a 20-minute ride. šµ The matcha parfait is indeed delicious, as is the one with two white mochi balls, and the matcha ice cream is also delightful. However, a matcha-based granita wasn't quite up to par, with large ice crystals. #Matcha #JapanFreeTravel #KyotoUji #NakamuraTokichi #AfternoonTea #UjiByodoin #UjiRiver #JapanTravelGuide
