UK – Oxford Day Trip Tips
🧡 University of Oxford Is the University of Oxford in the city of Oxford? I feel like the city of Oxford is actually inside the university ✨ The name “Oxford” literally means “ford for oxen”. Oxford is a city in Oxfordshire, England, located on the banks of the River Thames, about 80 km from London. What draws people here is the world-renowned University of Oxford – the oldest university in the UK, dating back to the mid-12th century.☺️ The train from London to Oxford takes about 1 hour. Ticket prices vary by time – I paid around £8!😀 As soon as I stepped off the train, I felt the air was colder than in London, and there was even hail on the ground. What amazed me even more was Oxford’s architecture – every building looks like a painting! 🏛️ 📍 Christ Church Cathedral – A paradise for Harry Potter fans! 💕 The filming location where Harry Potter first arrived at Hogwarts. Ticket: Adult £11.50 | Student £8.50 📍 Bridge of Sighs – It’s not over a lake! 😄 Legend says Oxford students sigh after exams when crossing it – hence the name. 📍 Carfax Tower – The clock tower in the city center Climb 99 spiral steps for a panoramic view of Oxford! 🎫 £3 – totally worth it! 📍 Bodleian Library – Gothic dome architecture, love at first sight! ❤️ Until the late 1950s, it was the largest library in the UK. Even now, every book published in the UK must send one copy to Oxford. It’s also the filming location for Hogwarts Library! 📚 #Oxford #UKTravel #HarryPotter #UniversityOfOxford #TravelTips #UKDiary ✨
