Ultimate One-Day Richmond, VA Itinerary 🚗💨
I started planning my Richmond trip over breakfast the morning of—and what a pleasant surprise it turned out to be! 🌉 James River Park Pipeline Walkway 📍 160 VA-195, Richmond, VA 23223 Highly recommend! You actually walk right over rushing river currents—such a unique experience! To access the walkway, you need to climb down a vertical ladder. It’s windy out there, so ladies, wear pants and sturdy shoes! 👖👟 🖼️ Virginia Museum of Fine Arts 📍 200 N Arthur Ashe Blvd, Richmond, VA 23220 A must-visit! I especially loved the Art Nouveau & Art Deco section on the third floor—so beautiful! 💎 If you can, set aside half a day to fully enjoy this museum. 🏛️ Institute for Contemporary Art at VCU 📍 601 W Broad St, Richmond, VA 23220 The architecture alone is worth seeing! 🏗️ Great stop if you’re into design and modern art. 🌿 Maymont Italian Garden & Japanese Garden Both are free to enter! The Japanese Garden is larger but not super refined. The Italian Garden is pleasant but not extraordinary. In winter, the vibe is a bit tricky… ❄️ Still, nice for a relaxed stroll. 🍜 Chao Tian Fu Spicy Hot Pot 📍 9127 W Broad St # C, Henrico, VA 23294 It had been a while since I had malatang (spicy hot pot)! 😋 Fresh veggies and free drinks—I was impressed! 🌶️ Cheng Du Chinese Restaurant 📍 9503 W Broad St # C, Henrico, VA 23294 A popular spot, but I’d rate it a 7/10. Seafood sizzling rice: sweet and crispy Couple’s beef slices: tasty but small portion Sānjiāo iron plate beef: just okay Overall, not bad, but not amazing. A packed and fun-filled day just a drive away from DC! Perfect for a weekend escape 🧳✨ #WeekendGetaway #Washingtondc #Virginia #RichmondVA #TravelGuide #MuseumLover #EastCoastTravel #DMVfood #DCEscapes
