π Unbelievable! Book Spine Parking Wall + First National Bank Vault
I saw photos online of the famous book-spine parking garage in Kansas City and knew I had to see it in person! ποΈπ But β fair warning β Kansas City has several libraries with similar names, and I ended up at the wrong one first π I went to the Kansas City Public Library, where I found a cool circular book sculpture at the entrance β made of real books! βοΈπ π§ Hereβs the important part π The famous book spine wall is actually at the: Central Library β Community Bookshelf & Library Parking π You can navigate directly to βCommunity Bookshelfβ In fall or winter, you can probably get a full unobstructed view πβοΈ But in summer, the trees are kinda in the way π³πΏ Still β so exciting to spot the Tao Te Ching up there! Felt a little proud seeing that ππ π But wait β thereβs more history here! This building used to be the First National Bank π¦ Now itβs the Catholic Center (how cool is that?) And downstairs in the Central Libraryβs lower levelβ¦ Lies the original bank vault from the First National Bank of Kansas! Later, it was turned into a movie theater π₯ And now it hosts special film screenings ποΈ I was surprised to see classic Hong Kong films being featured β starring Jackie Chan, Maggie Cheung, Tony Leung, Chow Yun Fat, and Louis Koo! π¬ππ° When it comes to cultural exchange and fusion, old-school Hong Kong cinema truly was a pioneer πβ¨ #ExploreHistory #HiddenGems #KansasCity #LibraryLovers #BookSpineWall #UrbanExploration
