Unemployed Wanderer Goes to an Exhibition
A Love for Churches ⛪️ Appears For those of you enjoying the autumn foliage in Hyde Park, don’t miss this exhibition at the Serpentine North Gallery 🔔 “The Call”. It’s the first solo exhibition in the UK by Berlin-based artist and musician Holly Herndon and Mat Dryhurst. They have masterfully combined artificial intelligence, music, technology, and art to create a spatial audio installation. ⛪️ In my past experiences visiting churches, I’ve often been moved by the sound of the choir, feeling a sort of cleansing of the soul. But what generates this feeling? I don’t really have any religious beliefs, could it really be some divine power? The artists might also be exploring what kind of patterns lie behind the human voices in choirs. They visited 15 choirs across the UK, recorded their harmonies, and used their designed choir AI model to create an artificial intelligence version of a hymn. Moreover, in one of the rooms, you can participate in this recording yourself to see what beautiful melody the AI model will transform your voice into. I haven’t sung in so long that when faced with the microphone, the only song that came to mind was the national anthem. The synthesis effect was quite magical hhhh 🎤 Looking forward to friends sharing their experiences 🎶 “If all media is training data, including art, let’s turn the production of training data into art instead.” Many people fear the changes that the widespread use of AI will bring to society, along with its good and bad influences. However, I believe embracing change is the best choice for us ordinary folks. I admire many people in various fields for their exploration in this area, which allows us to reflect on the precious aspects of human nature from another angle. At the same time, we discover potential dangers and create regulations to limit risks. ❗️ This Saturday (November 16) at noon, there will be a guided tour led by the curator of this art and technology exhibition. Sign up for free to attend. 📅 Exhibition ends: February 2, 2025 🆓 Free walk-in #TodayIsForArtLovers #EveryDayIsWorthRecording #WeekendPlans #LondonLife #NotebookInspiration #AI #LondonExhibitions #MustSeeExhibitionRecommendations #Art #FreeAdmission
