Uni in Boston – A Disappointing Experience ❌🍣
Yesterday, my colleague and I tried Uni near Newbury Street, drawn by its great ambiance and ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Google reviews. Sadly, it was a letdown. Here’s what we ordered (with the server’s recommendations): 1️⃣ Tuna Sushi (2 pieces) - $36 The fish was buttery and melted in the mouth 🍣✨, but the price was hard to justify. 2️⃣ Uni Pasta - $35 Overwhelmed by cheese 🧀, with no discernible sea urchin flavor. The portion was tiny—gone in 5-6 bites. 3️⃣ Seared Foie Gras with Tuna - ~$30+ The foie gras was fragrant but couldn’t compare to what I’ve had in France. It also clashed oddly with the tuna. 4️⃣ Tomato Sashimi - $36 Light and tangy but underwhelming. The fish lacked flavor, leaving us unsatisfied. 5️⃣ Crab Fried Rice Not terrible—sweet, sour, and crispy thanks to fried rice grains 🌾, with Southeast Asian herbs like mint and rosemary. But again, the portion was small. 6️⃣ Wagyu Dumplings The biggest miss! Thick dough + cheesy beef filling = a confusing, unpleasant combo 🥟😵. We spent $300 for two and left hungry—ended up grabbing late-night snacks elsewhere 🍜💸. Unless you’re feeling lavish, I’d skip this place. #BostonEats #UniBoston #SushiFail #FoodReview #DisappointingDining #BostonFoodie 🏙️👎
