Nuno’s Bistro & Bar 📍 Upland, CA Barrel-aged bourbon 🥃, live music, and modern European cuisine = The Perfect Friday Night!!! 🎶🍹🥂 If you’re a bourbon lover (American whiskey), you absolutely cannot miss this amazing spot serving European-Californian fusion dishes!!! Just looking at their tiny barrels of whiskey and their worldwide drink menu, you can tell the owner takes food & drink pairing SERIOUSLY!!! 😍🥃 Their whiskey-based cocktail menu has over 30+ options—how exciting is that?! 🎉💫 For appetizers, we ordered grilled fish cheeks—the portion was HUGE!!! (Honestly, after being "ripped off" by shady L.A. restaurants for too long, I’m not used to such reasonable prices outside the city 😂) It came with watermelon and Mexican green mango slices, giving off that perfect summer backyard vibe. 🌞🍉🥭 For the main course, we had Spanish Paella and Portuguese Peri-Peri Chicken. Personally, I loved the paella—the rice had a nice chewy texture, and the combo of squid ink and saffron created this indescribable, clashing beauty (like seeing a truck driver practicing calligraphy, lol 😆). My friend preferred the Portuguese spicy chicken, but I felt the sauce wasn’t authentic at all—it wasn’t spicy at all, just tasted like roasted sweet peppers, almost like Middle Eastern cuisine instead… 🫠🌶️ Overall, it’s a restaurant I’d definitely visit again!!! But warning: business is booming, so MAKE A RESERVATION IN ADVANCE!!! 💯 💰 Price per person: 50 – 80 (depending on whether you order drinks—of course you should!!!)
