Upstate NY | Albany | The Only Northwestern Chinese Cuisine in Town
This was my first visit, so I focused on classic dishes. Overall, the flavors felt slightly Americanized, but it still hits the spot for curing cravings in the Albany area. ❤️ Braised Pork Burger (Rou Jia Mo) The bread was even better than the filling! The "baijimo" bun was perfectly toasted—crispy on the outside, soft and chewy on the inside, with a wonderful wheat aroma. The braised pork had a nice balance of lean and fatty meat, and the absence of cilantro felt authentic. It was served in a paper bag to prevent grease leaks, but I finished it so quickly the bag was pointless 😌 ✅ Shaanxi Oil-Splashed Noodles The noodles were machine-cut, not the hand-pulled style I was hoping for. But one bite changed my mind—the noodles were pleasantly chewy, and the chili oil was bold and aromatic. For Albany, it’s a solid choice to satisfy those noodle cravings. ❌ Cumin Lamb This dish leaned too Americanized for my taste. Instead of sliced lamb, it seemed like the meat was stripped from skewers and stir-fried hastily with veggies. The cumin also tasted slightly bitter. ❤️ Rating: ⭐️⭐️✨ 💰 Average Price: $20 per person #StreetFood #ChineseCuisine #Albany #NYSurroundings #UpstateNY #AlbanyEats #AlbanyNY #AlbanyFoodScene #ChineseRestaurantsInAlbany
