USA Road Trip Day 3|Unexpected Charm of the Blues & Jazz in Memphis
Day 3 📍 Beale St, Memphis, TN Personal Rating: ⭐⭐ (Just my opinion!) Welcome to Memphis — Home of the Blues & Soul! 🎶 This city is steeped in American music history, tied to legends like Riley B. King (B.B. King) and Elvis Presley 🎸. That said, Memphis also has a reputation for higher crime rates — stay alert! 👀 📸 Attractions: ✔️ Beale Street: By day, it’s a cultural pedestrian street with shops and restaurants 🛍️; by night, it turns into a lively strip of bars 🍹. Very touristy, but worth a quick visit! ✔️ FedEx Forum: Home of the NBA’s Memphis Grizzlies 🏀 — you can’t miss it while walking around. Didn’t have time for these, but they come highly recommended: ✔️ Graceland – Elvis’s iconic estate ✔️ National Civil Rights Museum – Powerful and educational ✔️ Memphis Rock 'n' Soul Museum – Dive into music history 🎧 🛌 Accommodation: Homewood Suites by Hilton Southwind-Hacks Cross A comfortable all-suite hotel 🏨. Since Memphis can be rough around the edges, we opted for a safer, nicer stay. 🚗 Getting Around: Checked out at 11 AM, headed to Beale Street. Spent about 30 mins exploring + lunch 🥪, then hit the road again for another 10-hour drive! 🛣️ 🗣️ Little Recap: My travel buddy Liang shared tons about Blues and Jazz history — he’s super into it and knows a lot 🎵. Me? I didn’t retain much 😂… except that Jazz slowly evolved from the Blues. Good enough for me! #Memphis #TravelUSA #RoadTrip #JazzMusic #Blues #MusicLover #RetroVibes 🎺🇺🇸
