Folks in the group always ask me why all the good restaurants are in Salt Lake City 😂 Okay, okay—today I’m introducing a perfect spot for a weekend date night all the way up in Ogden! 🍷✨ This is probably the closest thing to fine dining in Weber + Davis County up north. Located in the historic pedestrian street of Downtown Ogden, right where the summer Farmers Market sets up around the corner 🛒🌿. With huge floor-to-ceiling windows and an elegant atmosphere, don’t underestimate the nightlife of our northern neighbors! Even on a Thursday night, it’s hard to get a table—so remember to make a reservation 📅. They use white paper instead of tablecloths—something I’ve only seen at seafood boil spots 🦞📄. It’s rare for an upscale restaurant to do this, though it was actually common in old New York eateries in classic films 🎬. It does feel a bit casual, but it’s super convenient if you have kids—they can just start drawing! The restaurant provides crayons 🖍️👧🧒. STROGANOFF 🍝 Originating from Russia and popular in places like Brazil, this mustard cream pasta is done pretty well here. Instead of traditional beef slices, they use ground beef. 🌟 IDAHO RAINBOW TROUT An Asian-inspired dish with a well-balanced soy-honey glaze. The addition of miso makes it more interesting than typical sweet sauces, and nori flakes add a nice touch 🐟🌱. Great for those who might not love classic Western flavors. SHRIMP SCAMPI 🍤 Unfortunately, this was too oily and too acidic for me—I only had a few bites 🍋😖. ✨ VEGETABLE FRIED RICE Vegetarian friends will love this! Loaded with mushrooms, seasonal veggies, cashews, nori, and gochujang—it’s flavorful and satisfying even without meat 🥦🍚. 🏆 Sorry, I forgot the name of this one! But it was delicious—like a fusion of Thai sweet chili sauce and shrimp cocktail 🍤❤️.
