šUtah Food Discovery š©šŖ Wellerās Bistro ā½ļø Go Germany!
Cheering for Team Germany!!! š©šŖš Iāve been looking forward to trying this German bistro for a long timeāit reminded me of the delicious beer, white sauce meatballs, and other treats I had during my trip to Belgium years ago š»š. And with the World Cup going on, the cheering atmosphere here is just perfect! šš The place is super popular. On weekends, youāll likely wait over 30 minutes ā. My first visit failed because my friend didnāt want to wait. The second time, we arrived right at openingābut it was already full! The wooden bar and furniture give it an authentic German pub feel šŖšŗ. It would be an awesome spot to watch the World Cup! The dining area is quite small, thoughāonly 5-6 tables fit, which explains the long wait. Thankfully, the service is quick š, and portions are generous. We ordered meatballs and schnitzel. Honestly, I was a bit disappointed šānot because it was bad, but because it wasnāt special. The flavors were just as expected, lacking that homemade touch. āāDas Schnitzelāā š German-style fried pork cutlet. The meat was firm but not crispy or juicy. Topped with bell pepper sauce (you can also choose mushroom cream sauce). The coating softened quickly if you didnāt eat fast enough. Served with caramelized red cabbage and roasted potatoes š„. The portion was huge! Most people might pair it with beer, but I went with Riesling wine š. āāFrikadellenāā š Listed as āmeatballā on the menu, but itās actually a small patty like a croquette. A bit dry š¬. Served with green beans and potato salad. Not recommended ā. Overall, itās a cozy bistro with great vibes, but the food is pretty average. At around $20 per dish with large portions, itās a decent option if you live up north and want an affordable, hearty dinner š½ļøšµ. But if youāre downtown, no need to travel all the way hereāIād recommend āāSiegfried's Delicatessenāā instead. Their German sausages are truly delicious! šš #SaltLakeCity #SLCFood #SaltLakeEats #Utah #LifeInSLC #FoodReview #WeekendEats #SLCFoodReview #MyFoodDiary #FoodShare #FoodieUSA #Inspiration
