Just visited Weller Bistro at 455 25th St, Ogden, UT for the first time! Very new looking building. Interior is very stylish, European Bistro decor. Very clean and well maintained.
Staff were very friendly and helpful. Asked questions and offered their opinions on what was good. Very helpful! I was given the opportunity to meet the owner Jan Weller, very enjoyable interaction with him.
I ordered the onion soup as Appetizer. I tried the Pork Schnitzel (Jäger) with the pork mushrooms sauce (Jägersoße) and asked for Spatzel substitute. Red cabbage (Rotkohl) was delicious as well.
I ordered a take out of their Gulosh stew. I'll try that later. It smells wonderful.
During my visit. I was able to interact with alot of the great staff. Very impressed! Jared was training new server. That was fun to watch. Jared is a great instructor with a gentle approach but firm grip on expecting excellence. Even as to go as far to teach some basic German words and phrases to enhance the patrons experience.
Food was very authentic German cuisine, flavors reminiscent of my time in Germany as a child with my parents.
I highly recommend this entire experience to all who enjoy German food. It is well with your time. I can't wait until the next time when i can bring family and friends to experience a little bit of Germany here I Ogden.
Sehr gut! Gut gemacht! Sie haben alle großartige Arbeit geleistet! Vielen Dank!...
Read moreI had the absolute pleasure of dining at the new Weller’s Bistro beautifully located inside the Monarch in Ogden, Utah. The setting is absolutely gorgeous—modern, artsy, and full of character, perfectly blending into the creative energy of the Monarch building while still feeling warm and welcoming.
This new spot had big shoes to fill after the beloved Layton location—and I’m thrilled to say it absolutely did. The food is just as incredible (if not even better!), with all the bold, comforting flavors we’ve come to love. From the perfectly crisp schnitzel to the creamy spätzle and the tangy, flavorful red cabbage, every dish is made with heart and tradition. It’s authentic German food at its finest.
The staff is equally impressive—attentive, kind, and genuinely excited to share this food with the community. You feel like you’re being welcomed into a family meal, and that kind of hospitality is hard to find.
If you’re in Ogden or even just passing through, don’t miss this spot. It’s not just a meal—it’s an experience that lives up to the legacy and brings something fresh and beautiful to...
Read moreThe food here is great as all reviews said. 6 of us dined. For appetizers we had the fried pickles, spinach artichoke dip, and the pretzel. Entrees were both schnitzel entrees, the goulash, Reuben, and bratwurst. We also had the a German mule and some beers that I don’t recall. The reason for 3 stars was the service and the overall vibe. This place is deceptively small inside, perfect for two but 6 was crowded. The outdoor seating would solve this when temps are moderate, but that wouldn’t solve the one bathroom for the whole restaurant. And by one bathroom, I mean one seat for everyone. The servers at the bar were awesome, but our table server was having a really bad day or is just a really bad server. The final surprise was the checks got messed up and I ended up paying for drinks I did not order. I would be back when I want authentic German cuisine, this is so much better than The Bohemian in Midvale and it’s nice to have that option. I would probably just go at a less busy time with...
