🎭 Venice Carnival Water Festival 🎫 Kicks Off Today

🥳 The name of the 2024 Venice Carnival Water Festival is "Unknown Lands - The Extraordinary Journey of Marco" ⌛️ The event takes place from February 2nd to 4th and February 8th to 13th, with two performances each night at 18:30 and 21:30, each lasting 30 minutes. 📌 This performance will be staged on the waters of Darsena Grande at the Venice Arsenal, a title derived from a cartographic term that has been used since the 1500s to denote unexplored areas of the Earth. 🥳 Performance Details: The show will take us back to the journey of the young Venetian merchant Marco Polo, who, from the age of seventeen, embarked on a 24-year voyage to the East in search of the new and the unknown, guided by the spirit of exploration. An imaginative narrative emerges from the water, inspired by Marco Polo's work "Il Milione," and told through various creative artistic languages in a fantastical tone, just like Marco's journey, without boundaries. Nine performers from the French company Ilotopie will also take to the stage with stunning landscape machines to light up the waters of Venice. Two actors bring Marco Polo to life: the young Tankredi Blu Silla, narrating with the accompaniment of boats from the Venetian association Vela al Terzo. The performance will also feature body language with five dancers from the Oriental Dance Troupe leading us into the mysteries of ancient Chinese legends with a dance of four symbols and a sword dance.
