Venice Food Diary | Best Seafood Pasta in Italy! ๐Ÿฆž๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡น

Spent 2 days in Venice โ€” compared to other Italian cities, eating on the island is definitely pricier ๐Ÿ’ธ Hereโ€™s my breakdown of restaurants by attraction area to help you plan your route ๐Ÿ—บ๏ธ Near Libreria Acqua Alta (Bookshop) ๐Ÿšช 6342 Alla Corte Ristorante โ€“ Google 4.7 โญ A super cozy little spot with great vibes ๐Ÿ˜Œ The chef is really friendly โ€” helped us connect to the WiFi and asked if we wanted to sit outside ๐Ÿƒ The outdoor seating is in a cute Italian-style courtyard, and they were playing The Godfather soundtrack ๐ŸŽถ โ€” such a mood! Their bread was the best weโ€™ve had โ€” served warm, unlike other places where itโ€™s cold and hard ๐Ÿฅ– We ordered lobster pasta + chefโ€™s dessert ๐Ÿฆž๐Ÿฎ โ€” the shrimp was fresh, and the pasta was thick with a udon-like QQ texture โ€” loved it! Near the Train Station ๐Ÿšช Trattoria Bar Pontini โ€“ Google 4.5 โญ Their seafood pasta was THE BEST we had in all of Italy. No competition ๐Ÿ† Highly, highly recommend! They have seating by the canal โ€” great view ๐ŸŒŠ The tiramisu was served in a big bowl and tasted just like the one from Samโ€™s Club ๐Ÿ˜‚ The Aperol Spritz was delicious โ€” fruity and not too alcoholic ๐Ÿน Near St. Markโ€™s Square ๐Ÿšช La Piazza There was a long line outsideโ€ฆ and it was all foreigners ๐Ÿง‘โ€๐Ÿคโ€๐Ÿง‘ Maybe taste really is subjective ๐Ÿ˜… I ordered the seafood platter + lobster pasta โ€” both were tasty ๐Ÿฆ The sauce with the seafood platter was light and refreshing ๐Ÿ‹ But they charged 12% service fee โ€” the most expensive meal we had ๐Ÿ’ฐ Good, but not the best value. Near Rialto Bridge ๐Ÿšช Acqua a Maria This plate cost โ‚ฌ15 and was way too salty ๐Ÿง‚๐Ÿ’ฅ If I could do it again, Iโ€™d rather sit down somewhere and order pizza or pasta ๐Ÿ• ๐Ÿฆ Overall, I thought gelato in Venice was just okayโ€ฆ Suso and Gallonetto were both too sweet for me ๐Ÿฏ Not as good as the ones in Rome or Florence โŒ In Rome, if you see a place with award stickers or long lines โ€” just go for it! But in Veniceโ€ฆ avoid this one at all costs: Cafe Rialto near Rialto Bridge ๐Ÿšซ Rude staff โ€” insisted on cash even though they had a card machine ๐Ÿ’ฐ๐Ÿ˜  Tiny portions โ€” my medium cup wasnโ€™t even filled! ๐Ÿ˜ค Tasted like cheap artificial flavoring โ€” reminded me of low-quality ice cream back home ๐Ÿฆ๐Ÿ˜ต The owner was Asian โ€” which kinda reinforced my stereotypeโ€ฆ ๐Ÿ˜ฌ #Venice #VeniceFood #VisitVenice #ItalyTravel #ItalianCuisine
