Venice Food Diary | Best Seafood Pasta in Italy! 🦞🇮🇹

Spent 2 days in Venice — compared to other Italian cities, eating on the island is definitely pricier 💸 Here’s my breakdown of restaurants by attraction area to help you plan your route 🗺️ Near Libreria Acqua Alta (Bookshop) 🚪 6342 Alla Corte Ristorante – Google 4.7 ⭐ A super cozy little spot with great vibes 😌 The chef is really friendly — helped us connect to the WiFi and asked if we wanted to sit outside 🍃 The outdoor seating is in a cute Italian-style courtyard, and they were playing The Godfather soundtrack 🎶 — such a mood! Their bread was the best we’ve had — served warm, unlike other places where it’s cold and hard 🥖 We ordered lobster pasta + chef’s dessert 🦞🍮 — the shrimp was fresh, and the pasta was thick with a udon-like QQ texture — loved it! Near the Train Station 🚪 Trattoria Bar Pontini – Google 4.5 ⭐ Their seafood pasta was THE BEST we had in all of Italy. No competition 🏆 Highly, highly recommend! They have seating by the canal — great view 🌊 The tiramisu was served in a big bowl and tasted just like the one from Sam’s Club 😂 The Aperol Spritz was delicious — fruity and not too alcoholic 🍹 Near St. Mark’s Square 🚪 La Piazza There was a long line outside… and it was all foreigners 🧑‍🤝‍🧑 Maybe taste really is subjective 😅 I ordered the seafood platter + lobster pasta — both were tasty 🦐 The sauce with the seafood platter was light and refreshing 🍋 But they charged 12% service fee — the most expensive meal we had 💰 Good, but not the best value. Near Rialto Bridge 🚪 Acqua a Maria This plate cost €15 and was way too salty 🧂💥 If I could do it again, I’d rather sit down somewhere and order pizza or pasta 🍕 🍦 Overall, I thought gelato in Venice was just okay… Suso and Gallonetto were both too sweet for me 🍯 Not as good as the ones in Rome or Florence ❌ In Rome, if you see a place with award stickers or long lines — just go for it! But in Venice… avoid this one at all costs: Cafe Rialto near Rialto Bridge 🚫 Rude staff — insisted on cash even though they had a card machine 💰😠 Tiny portions — my medium cup wasn’t even filled! 😤 Tasted like cheap artificial flavoring — reminded me of low-quality ice cream back home 🍦😵 The owner was Asian — which kinda reinforced my stereotype… 😬 #Venice #VeniceFood #VisitVenice #ItalyTravel #ItalianCuisine
