I recently visited this ice cream shop with high expectations, but unfortunately, my experience was quite disappointing. While the selection of flavors looked promising, several key aspects need urgent attention.
Firstly, the overall cleanliness of the establishment was concerning. There were no visible sanitary routines being followed — surfaces appeared unclean, and staff did not use gloves or observe basic hygiene protocols when handling food. In any food service environment, especially one serving ready-to-eat items like ice cream, maintaining proper hygiene is not just expected, it is essential for customer safety.
Secondly, the customer service left much to be desired. The staff seemed uninterested and at times outright rude, which made the experience feel unwelcoming. A smile and courteous service can go a long way in creating a positive atmosphere — unfortunately, that was lacking during my visit.
In short, while the concept has potential, this ice cream shop needs to prioritize both hygiene standards and staff training to offer the quality experience that customers deserve. Until improvements are made, I would be hesitant to...
Read moreNice gelato but the price point is ridiculous even for Venezia. If you get 3 of the special flavours which includes pistachio you will pay €3 a scoop which means a large 3 scooper will be €9. Pictured is my obnoxiously priced €9 gelato. The special flavours which they have marked up aside from pistachio (which at any other place is just a standard flavour..) generally are the crème variety where they have a layer of hazelnut, chocolate or pistachio type crème. These cremes aren’t special enough to be priced at that here, if you are used to artisanal gelato not the rubbish tourist traps you will see these types of gelato as standard on the menu without the obnoxious pricing. While the gelato here is decent enough and of course you will enjoy it, the opera is the only one worthy of the extra charge though that is pushing it really. Unfortunately the pistachio was the worst I had in Venezia of the 4 artisanal gelato places I tried, that with the pricing means overall I can’t recommend it vs a nearby competitor though service was very good and I was able to try...

Whether you go for a classic stracciatella, their famous “Manet” blend, or a daring pistachio-infused delight, every bite melts into pure happiness.
Yes, the line might be long, but trust us—it’s worth every minute. Pro tip: check the menu ahead of time so you’re ready to order when your turn comes (because choosing just one flavor here is no easy task).
Gelatoteca Suso isn’t just a gelato shop; it’s a sensory experience. If you’re in Venice and looking for the perfect scoop, don’t miss this masterpiece. Your taste buds...
