Vietnamese fusion cuisine in LA--Little Sister DTLA
—————— 🍴 Little Sister 'Bo Kho' 🐂 Braised short ribs, bone marrow, baby root vegetables, baguette & butter - This is the restaurant's signature dish, but it was a bit of a disappointment. The bone marrow had a powdery texture and was quite greasy, which didn't taste good. Some bone marrow has a rich, smooth, and delicious texture, but this was not the case. Additionally, the short ribs were very salty, and overall, they didn't pair well with the other ingredients. The only saving grace was the liver pâté, which was quite good. BANH MI 🥖 Vietnamese Sandwich I ordered the grilled lemon grass chicken, which was average and lacked flavor. It didn't feel authentic at all. It seems I need to go to a sandwich specialty store for a tasty and affordable experience. The only part was the lemon salad sauce for the fries, which was incredibly refreshing and delicious. 🥰 'Bun Tom Thit Nuong' 🍤 Crispy pork belly & prawns over vermicelli, condiments - I arrived late and didn't get the meat I wanted, but the vermicelli dish was quite good. It was refreshing, and the crispy pork belly and prawns were decent, especially if you enjoy fried foods. Shrimp & Pork Spring Roll 🌯 Spring rolls are a must-order in Vietnamese cuisine, and these were average, nothing special. However, the sauce that came with it was delicious! The classic peanut sauce had a rich coconut flavor. ❤️ 🚩: 523 W 7th St, Los Angeles, CA 90017, United States —————— #Little Sister DTLA#Los Angeles#food diary#Vietnamese cuisine
