Vietnamese Pho in 95°F Heat in Dallas

🌺While chatting with a coworker about Vietnamese pho, I mentioned a place that left a strong impression on me because it was always packed. She immediately chimed in, “That’s where we Vietnamese people go most often!” After hearing that, I decided I had to revisit the place this weekend. 🍰Sure enough, when I got there, I wasn’t disappointed—the line stretched from inside the store all the way out. Despite the scorching heat in the 90s, people were still willing to wait. If a place is this popular even in this weather, the food must be something special. 😻Fortunately, the turnover was quick, and we got a table after waiting for just about 15 minutes. The restaurant is actually quite large, and at a glance, it seemed like almost everyone was a regular. The atmosphere was very relaxed and natural. It felt like how people in Guangzhou go to Shunde for fresh fish, or how Vietnamese people go to Hanoi for pho—Pho Bac is like the “Hanoi pho joint” of Dallas. 😝For our main dishes, we ordered two classics: meatball pho and bún bò Huế. The meatball pho is a light broth with thin noodles, perfect for summer. On the other hand, bún bò Huế is the complete opposite—a layer of red oil floats on the surface of the soup, with a fragrant and spicy aroma. The first bite releases a burst of chili flavor, and it’s packed with large chunks of pig’s trotter, beef brisket, and sausage. It comes with thick rice noodles and is very filling! The most impressive dish was their grilled pork spring roll, which is absolutely my must-order appetizer. The grilled pork has a crispy, fragrant exterior, and the inside is well-marinated. When you dip it in the generous amount of special peanut sauce and take a bite, your happiness level soars instantly! #DallasFood #Dallas #USA #Foodie #SoloDining #Weekend #InternationalStudent
