Viral Birdcage-Themed Restaurant Near KOP -
✨ The Cage in Audubon ✨ 📍 711 S Trooper Rd, Norristown, PA 19403 This birdcage-themed restaurant has opened its 3rd location—I tried to book a table several times but it was always full, and finally got a spot on the last day of the long weekend! The Audubon location I visited is a 10-minute drive from King of Prussia (KOP) Mall. The three locations aren’t far from each other; the other two are in Huntingdon Valley and Warrington (you can’t book the latter on Google Maps, but reservations are available on their official website). First, let’s talk about the drinks—their cocktails are so exquisitely made!! Even if you don’t plan to dine, I recommend stopping by their bar for a drink. Here’s what we ordered: 🔸 LAVENDER LLOYD It’s the 3rd award-winning cocktail listed in the first two pages of the menu. It’s served with lit lavender, tastes good, and isn’t sweet. 🔹 THE CYCLOPS The back of the drink menu features 7 mythology-inspired cocktails, each with a beautiful illustration and background storysuper thoughtful! This “Cyclops” one has rose and yuzu flavors, highly recommended. Now the food: 🔸 BIG EYE TUNA 💰21 I wondered what “big eye” meant—turns out it’s shaped like an eye 🤣! The green apple and cucumber shred salad underneath is super fresh, which was a nice surprise on the first bite. The tuna was just okay, but the chili flakes on top added great aroma (the salad pairing is really good, recommend it!). 🔹 DOUBLE TRUFFLE FRIES 💰10 The fries are perfectly fried—crunchy on the outside, soft inside, and thick-cut. Unlike regular truffle fries, theirs seem to be fried with truffle oil from the start—so fragrant, I couldn’t stop eating them! 🔹 Soup of the Day (Savory Pumpkin Seafood Soup) It tasted good; the pumpkin was blended very smoothly. There was seafood in it, but I couldn’t tell exactly what kind. (Personally, I still prefer sweet pumpkin soup though.) 🔹 ALMOND-CRUSTED SALMON 💰28 The salmon was delicious! It had almond and sugar crumbs on top, and the doneness was just right. The accompanying rice was okay in flavor but had a weird texture—it looked like fried rice, but was too wet. 🔹 FETTUCCINE ALFREDO 💰22 + Crab meat 💰8 The white sauce pasta was a bit too rich and greasy—not recommended. A final note: The restaurant has a jungle and birdcage decor, but surprisingly, the restrooms are super modern (the toilets are black! In case anyone was curious too). The lighting in the restrooms is perfect for selfies! #Philadelphia #PhiladelphiaRestaurants #ViralBirdcageRestaurant #FoodieFinds
