Visit the Basilica of San Marco to see the frescoes.
After spending five days in Florence, I declare it my second favorite city in Italy (the first has to be Rome).πππ Florence is quite small, with narrow streets. As you walk through the city, you see a mix of terracotta and earth-colored low buildings. The alleys twist and turn, and you might easily brush past people rushing by.πππ If you encounter a rainy day, Florence's charm can be completely overshadowed by the unpleasant experience (a common situation in many European cities). But a sunny day in Florence is incomparable. The azure sky is dotted with cotton-candy-like clouds, and the unique Italian umbrella pines and historic architecture make everything just perfect.πππ If you want to avoid the hustle and bustle in Florence, head to the Basilica of San Marco to see the frescoes. Just turn the corner and go upstairs to encounter the Annunciation, with subtle sparkles on the wings and soothing colors that bring calmness. In each small cell on the second floor, there's a fresco. One can only wonder what the monks thought about while praying here back in the day.πππ #Florence #Frescoes #Italy #Travel #ItalyTravel
