Visited Butcher and Singer, the Best Steakhouse in Philadelphia
☺️The ambiance is very elegant, with classical-style furniture and chandeliers that have lots of details. Under the warm, dim light, it feels like you’re transported back to the 19th century. The decor is exquisite and grand, making it perfect for taking photos (unfortunately, I wasn’t dressed that well at the time). ☺️No reservation is needed; you can just walk in. The pre-dinner bread is soft, flaky, and crispy. Paired with the butter that’s creamy, cool, and sweet, it’s simply divine. I’ve never had such delicious bread! Escargot: It’s just okay—neither bad nor particularly good. Steak: This is really tasty (you can order a double portion). The side dishes of mushrooms and onions are very fragrant. Maybe I’m just not sophisticated enough to tell the difference between this and my own pan-seared version. Hahaha, after all, it’s hard to mess up simple dishes like this as long as the ingredients are high-quality! This time, I had the Porterhouse steak, cooked medium. It was so tender and delicious, with no burnt bits on the surface—very satisfying! For sides, I had creamed spinach and mashed potatoes. They were just average. I still can’t get over the greasy spinach, so I’d suggest those who easily get full or prefer less rich food skip it... For dessert, I added a birthday candle to my order (hehe). I had the caramel pudding, which I thought was a bit too sweet and had a slightly weak dairy flavor. Maybe it just wasn’t that great because I was already too full. ⚠️ During peak hours, the service can be extremely slow. 💰 The average cost per person, including tips, is around $100.
