Visited the Best Restaurant in Dallas 24 Years Ago, and Now It's...
La Duni Latin Cafe | A Latin Hideaway Hidden in the Aroma of Coffee, Like Stumbling into a Pastry Workshop 🍰☕️ As soon as I walked into La Duni, I was greeted by a massive coffee machine right in front of me. The already small space was packed with two large display cases filled with cakes. The three oddly-shaped small tables were squeezed in between, with various pastries and cookies filling the gaps. I was curious—how could a Texas restaurant be as crowded as one in New York? 🍅After chatting with the chef, I learned that the original restaurant location had been taken back by the landlord. They had to temporarily convert the waiting and bakery takeout area into a small dining space, and they're now waiting for the opportunity to find a new location to restart. 🥔It was then that I noticed each table was covered with soft tablecloths and adorned with small bouquets of flowers. Despite the cramped space, the entire little house was orderly amidst the chaos, with no shortage of warmth and charm. 🍓I went there alone, and the waiter led me to the largest Communal Table, which means it's a long table shared by everyone. While waiting for my meal, I looked up and saw the walls covered with magazine articles, awards, and old photos. It felt like a seasoned old café. #DallasFood #Dallas #USA #Foodie #EatingAlone #Weekend #InternationalStudent
