Warm & Cozy Braised Short Ribs on a Rainy Irvine Day 🔥🍖
It's been rainy these weeks in SoCal ☔️—perfect weather for a hot, hearty stew! I went with friends to Yoo’s Place in Irvine, and the experience was heartwarming from the start. As soon as we sat down, the kind server brought over a thermos—we thought it was tea, but it turned out to be steaming-hot bone broth! On a drizzly day, that small gesture totally warmed us up. ❤️🥣 We ordered the #24 Large Spicy Braised Beef Short Rib Pot and added extra cheese 🧀. The server even offered to debone the ribs before serving—no awkward gnawing required! The meat was incredibly tender, falling apart easily, and the stew came loaded with potatoes, pumpkin, chewy rice cakes, and red dates. The rice cakes were delightfully soft and stretchy—so comforting! Next up was #51 Mushroom Stone Pot Rice 🍚—a slightly sweet, savory bibimbap packed with generous slices of beef and fresh veggies. Served sizzling hot in the stone bowl, it was aromatic and filling once mixed together. We also tried the #12 Spicy Cold Noodles 🍜—light and refreshing with crisp cucumber and fragrant sesame oil—and #59 Jajangmyeon (Korean Black Bean Noodles) 🥒, which had chewy noodles and a savory (not overly sweet) sauce. By the end of the meal, even though the rain continued outside, we felt completely warm and satisfied. This kind of weather just calls for a big pot of tender beef ribs to make everything better! 😌 📍 Yoo’s Place 2626 Dupont Dr A-20, Irvine, CA 92612 #LAEats #KoreanFood #IrvineFood #BraisedShortRibs #RainyDayEats #ComfortFood #StonePotRice #FoodDiary #WarmMeals #SoCalEats #MustTryIrvine
