Warm & Cozy on a Rainy Day in Irvine
It’s raining again in LA these weeks ☔️ — perfect weather for a big pot of ribs. Met up with a good friend and tried Yoo’s Place in Irvine. As soon as we sat down, the auntie brought over a thermos — thought it was tea, but it was hot bone broth 🥣. Already warmed my heart on a gloomy day. Ordered #24 on the menu: Large Spicy Braised Beef Short Rib Pot — we added cheese 🧀. The auntie debones the ribs for you before serving — no awkward gnawing! The meat was fall-apart tender, no stringiness at all. The pot comes with potatoes, pumpkin, big chewy rice cakes, and red dates. The rice cakes were extra large and wonderfully sticky! Also tried: 🍚 #51 Mushroom Stone Pot Bibimbap Sweet savory style — generous beef chunks and veggies. Served sizzling hot — mixed up, it was incredibly fragrant. 🍜 #12 Spicy Cold Noodles Light and refreshing — sweet cucumber strips with strong sesame oil aroma. 🥒 #59 Jajangmyeon (Black Bean Noodles) Chewy noodles, not too sweet — a solid version. After the meal, it was still raining outside — but we were completely warmed up from the inside out. Weather like this really makes a rib pot feel like a hug 😌. 📍 Yoo’s Place 2626 Dupont Dr a-20, Irvine, CA 92612 #LAEats #LAFoodFinds #KoreanFood #IrvineEats #FoodThatHitsDifferent #FoodDiary
