We’re Still Enjoying Autumn

California in December 🍂 While others have started playing in the snow, Californians are still basking in the golden autumn 🍂. I’m sharing two Los Angeles spots (no need to go far) where you can experience the colorful fall. 📍 Oak Glen Preserve Hiking 🥾 Just a 1.5-hour drive from LA and you’ll reach Glen Oak (towards Big Bear Lake). As you go deeper into the mountains, you’ll be greeted by a swath of golden autumn leaves - so healing! There are many farms in the area where you can pick apples, gather chestnuts, go horseback riding, and enjoy apple cider. The u-pick apples are no longer available as the orchards are closed now. But you can still buy apples, apple wine, and apple pies from the shops. The apple juice here is different from the supermarket kind; it’s not sweet and has no bubbles. If you love it, you can even buy a gallon of fresh-pressed juice to take home. The town often has events on weekends. We happened to visit during the Butter Festival. There’s a barbecue restaurant outside the farm with a long line of people waiting. The beef brisket sandwich is a must-try, and I’ve heard the pork ribs are delicious too. There’s live music during lunchtime, creating a festive atmosphere. Make sure to take a walk on the trail next to the barbecue place after eating. There are several stunning fall trails perfect for family hikes. Even though the leaves in the apple orchard have turned yellow, every shot is like a piece of atmospheric artwork. There are many picnic tables along the way, and it’s a joy to rest by the roadside and enjoy some apple juice. 📍 Pomona Ganesha Park for Ginkgo Viewing If you don’t want to go far, Pomona is the place to find autumn. It’s a paradise for those seeking fall colors. The park is quiet with few people, allowing you to enjoy the slow pace in solitude. There’s a row of ginkgo trees that are picturesque and perfect for photo ops. The sight of the leaves gently falling is simply breathtaking. My dog had a great time playing among the ginkgo leaves. I’m grateful for nature’s gifts. I recommend going in the evening for better lighting. 🅿️ There’s a large parking lot, and it’s easy to find a spot. I’ve caught this year’s autumn scenery; have you? 🍁 #HowBeautifulAutumnLooksThroughALens #SteppingIntoAGinkgoSecretGardenInEarlyWinter #EveryCityHasItsOwnAutumnPath
