Weekend Getaway | Charlotte, NC 🐝 Itinerary & Food Guide
Weekend Getaway | Charlotte, NC 🐝 Itinerary & Food Guide Escaping New York’s endless on-and-off rain for Charlotte, NC—and the sunshine here was exactly the pick-me-up I needed.🌳 🌴Here’s a roundup of my random wanderings plus a food list (mostly Southern eats) 🐝 NBA: Charlotte Hornets vs. Denver Nuggets My first ever NBA game, and the atmosphere was unreal! 🍉 Head to the bar area for a totally different game-viewing experience.🏵️ Pro tip: Check the venue rules in advance—bags larger than a certain size are not allowed (we’re talking wallet-only level). 🐵🐵 🌹The Hornets’ home court has no bag check service, so you’ll have to sort it out yourself❗️ Luckily, the nice guy at the entrance suggested I empty my bag and hide it in the bushes. 🍣🍣 Miraculously, it was still there after two hours of cheering 👣 🐝 The Mint Museum Such a great art museum—so many people have raved about it💞💞 You can get in for free with a Bank of America card, or score student tickets with your school ID. 🐝 Haberdish (3106 N Davidson St, Charlotte, NC 28205)🧡 Also hyped to the max on it. Classic American Southern fare—their fried chicken is incredibly crispy. 💙 Be prepared to wait in line during peak hours.💓💓 🐝 Mac Tabby Cat Cafe (3204 N Davidson St, Charlotte, NC 28205)🚌 A happy accidental find near Haberdish! The space is lovely, with separate areas for coffee sipping and cat cuddling. 💕 The gift shop is worth browsing too.👀👀 It’s located in a repurposed factory art district packed with vintage stores and cafes—highly recommend a stroll.🍚🍚 🐝 Gravity Sourdough Pizza (1824 Statesville Ave Ste. 101, Charlotte, NC 28206)🌻 Discovered this gem in another converted factory district! We ordered the Tommy Boy Pizza—it has a unique sweet twist that’s surprisingly delicious . 🙉 The neighborhood is fun to explore too, with tons of cute little shops.🍐🎼 🐝 Coastal Kitchen & Bar (222 E 3rd St, Charlotte, NC 28202)😍 Nestled inside a Hilton hotel, but totally open to non-guests. 😊😊 Their Cowboy Burger is a must-try—and the fried chicken skin side is chef’s kiss.😘😘 🐝 Tupelo Honey (101 S Tryon St Suite 130, Charlotte, NC 28280) A super popular spot famous for its fried chicken. Book a table ahead on weekends—otherwise, you’ll have to cross your fingers for a bar seat.❤️👄 We got half a fried chicken and a fried shrimp sandwich—both were mouthwateringly good.👍 🐝 The Absury (235 N Tryon St, Charlotte, NC 28202) A cozy little spot with top-notch service. Cheese lovers, don’t miss the FARRO RISOTTO—it’s rich, creamy, and extremely filling.💚 #WinterTravelBucketList #GreatGetaway #WeekendInANewCity #InternationalStudentTravel #InternationalStudentLife #StudentFoodDiaries #NorthCarolina #Charlotte #MyFoodJournal
