Weekend Musings in Dallas, Texas
đ Texas truly lives up to its nickname as the "Lone Star Republic." Every drive through its vast landscapes leaves me in awe of the endless, expansive plains and the breathtaking sunsets that stretch across the horizon. During a jet-lagged night, I revisited the TV series Landman, which deepened my curiosity about Texasâs economic and cultural tapestry. For dinner, I visited Nuri Steamhouse in downtown Dallas â one of the worldâs top 101 steakhouses đ„©. It was a delightful evening catching up with American friends and colleagues. Back at the Marriott DFW, the night didnât end there. I joined Stanford PhD friends who flew in from Silicon Valley for a late-night session of Guandan â a classic Chinese card game. Who wouldâve thought? In Texas, we skipped poker and went straight to a national favorite đ. A fun cultural twist under the Texan sky. Over the weekend, I took time to reflect on my investment journey over the years. There were small lessons learned from missteps, but more importantly, consistent positive feedback and significant growth in understanding. Now, the flywheel of wealth is spinning faster than ever âĄ. Time truly flies, and opportunities in our era feel increasingly rare. Itâs more important than ever to stay focused, align knowledge with action, and aim for meaningful outcomes.
