Weekly Restaurant Check-In – Manpuku BBQ 🍖🔥
After a busy week, what better way to reward yourself than with some Korean-Japanese BBQ? 😆 I’d always heard this place was top-tier in LA—and it totally lives up to the hype! Recommended Dishes: Uni & Kobe Beef Sashimi ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ So, so sweet and fresh! Beautifully plated—felt like a treat. But since I’m not huge on raw beef, I liked the grilled items more. Kobe Sukiyaki Wrap ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Forgot to take a pic 😅—comes with two wraps. The staff grills the beef, wraps it around rice, and you dip it in egg yolk (like in the first photo). Three amazing textures in one bite—so good! Tokyo Style Short Rib & Beef Tongue ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Scallions + meat = perfect match! Skip if you don’t like onions though. Kobe Tongue – Thick, Salt ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (My favorite!) How is it so tender AND crispy? 😍 Juicy and super flavorful—the star of the show! Pork Belly with Lettuce ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Comes with lettuce, scallions, kimchi, and bean sprouts to wrap together—great combo! Seasoned with salt and black pepper. We also ordered short rib and rib finger—both delicious but a bit sweet. Not a fan of sweet marinades? Ask for the salt version! Beef Intestine & Pork Neck were okay, but not as good as traditional Korean versions. Garlic Fried Rice ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ – A must-order! So tasty! Cold Noodles were a letdown—noodles were too hard, and the broth wasn’t tangy or sweet. The restaurant is small, so make a Yelp reservation ahead! Overall, the meat quality and service are top-notch. When we went, three A5 cuts were sold out (really wanted to try the A5 rib eye 😢). You grill everything yourself, so you gotta know your preferred doneness—I ate a lot of mine medium-rare afraid of overcooking! 😂 Highly recommend! #BBQ #HiddenGemEats #JapaneseBBQ #LAFood #FoodieShare #GrillAtHome #MeatLovers #KobeBeef #Yakiniku #LAEats #MustTry #WeekendTreat #FoodReview #EatLA #ManpukuBBQ #GrillMaster #AsianBBQ #FoodPhotography #DineInLA
