What’s Regina, Canada Like?
The "unprofessional" film grad student is back to show you another small Canadian city! 😂 After Saskatoon, let’s check out Regina ! It’s the second-most populous city in Saskatchewan, ranking just behind Windsor in the national list. 😂😂😂 As usual, I’ve done some research and will share it with you. This post covers the basics of Regina 🌆, hoping to give those considering moving here for study or life some reference. All data comes from the City of Regina’s official website and Areavibes . ### Geography & Weather 📍 Location: - Regina sits in the middle of the Prairie provinces , covering 184.42 km² —smaller than Shanghai’s Baoshan District by nearly 100 km². You can drive around the city in half an hour . ☀️ Weather: - Warmest month: July (Avg. low 13°C, high 26°C). - Coldest month: January (Avg. low -19°C, high -9°C). Basically the same as Saskatoon. 😂😂😂 - Occasionally drops below -32°C —literally freezing to death. 🥶 - Best time to visit: May to September (tourism score drops to zero from September to March). - But like Saskatoon, you can see the Northern Lights here!!! ### Population 👥 Stats: - Population: 241,465 —half the size of an average Chinese county. - Median age: 36.2 years (super young! 🏃). For comparison: - Canada’s avg. age: 42 - China’s avg. age: 37 - Population density: 1,343/km² (vs. Shanghai’s 3,926/km² ). Not *that* sparse, but still… 😵 Fun fact: Saskatchewan’s overall density is 2 people per km². That’s insane. 🌍 Demographics (2021): - 9% South Asian (mostly Indian immigrants) - 3% East Asian (so this post’s target audience is probably <7,000 people 😂😂😂). Wonder how much it’s changed in 3 years. ### Next Up… - Part 2: Regina’s industries & job market - Part 3: Cost of living, food, housing, and transport If you live here, share your real-life experiences! 😊 #CanadianLife #Canada #StudyInCanada #Saskatchewan #Regina #NorthernLights #PrairieLife
