What's so special about Barcelona Cathedral?

Though Barcelona is already famous for its Sagrada Família, the Barcelona Cathedral boasts a quaint and traditional exterior with a rich and surprising interior, making it well worth a visit! Barcelona Cathedral, sometimes referred to as the Barcelona Cathedral Basilica, is also a venue for many religious ceremonies. We visited on May 3rd, and there were many elementary school students doing exercises to music in the square in front of the church. We heard that there was also a ceremony on the church's rooftop early that morning, indicating it was probably a festive day for the church. It also features a courtyard with white geese and rooftop access for a unique view! Rooftop breezes, courtyard geese | Barcelona Cathedral has hidden treasures~ Queuing up to climb to the top is absolutely worth it! The wind may be strong, but the view is extraordinary. The ticket includes free rooftop access at no extra charge. The courtyard is home to many white geese that live there permanently. It's said that the number of geese is significant, and you can learn the story through the audio guide. Suggested visit duration: One to two hours Tickets: Purchased inside to the left of the church's main entrance, at multiple counters (since there's usually no queue at the church ticket booth, we had to ask for directions. Next door sells tourist tickets, so don't go to the wrong place!). Tickets can also be bought on the official website. The ticket includes access to the courtyard, rooftop, and VR experience. The price was either 12€ or 14€, I can't remember exactly. Guided tour: There's a free audio guide available. Listening to the guide reveals the church's stories, including its history of construction. Note: Selfie sticks or long shooting equipment are not allowed inside the church or on the rooftop. Security personnel have reminded visitors to put them away, possibly to avoid disturbing other tourists. The exterior of the church is also quite beautiful and worth a stroll. It's located in the Gothic Quarter, where there are many charming narrow streets and small shops to explore. #BarcelonaSpot #BarcelonaCathedral #BarcelonaCathedralBasilica
