What Food Made Us Drive 6 Hours to Vancouver? (Richmond Edition) 🚗🍜
Six hours from Portland—not too far, but not exactly close either. Yet, for good food? WORTH IT. When border control asked why I was visiting Canada, my answer? "To eat." 😂 📍 MUST-VISIT SPOTS IN RICHMOND 1️⃣ Hei Hei Rice Roll 🥇 ✔ "Triple Happiness" Rice Roll – No-brainer order! ✔ Scallop Rice Roll – Fresh, delicate, wish I added egg! ✔ Osmanthus Fermented Rice Soy Milk – Better than boba! (Or maybe it’s the "healthy" placebo effect 😆) 2️⃣ Xiaolongkan Hotpot 🌶️🔥 ✔ No introduction needed—always a must-visit in Vancouver! ✔ Zero bad dishes—3-hour feast, left rubbing my full belly. ✔ Why call it "fondue"? Have some hotpot pride! 🍲 3️⃣ Empire Seafood Restaurant 🥢 ✔ Weekday 20% off before 11 AM (weekends before 10 AM)—early bird discount! ✔ Golden Lava Sesame Balls – SHOWSTOPPER. ✔ Honey BBQ Pork Puffs, Shrimp Dumplings – All hits. ✔ Claypot Rice? Skip—no crispy bottom (save room for dim sum!). 4️⃣ Lu Charcoal Grill🍢 ✔ Missed Wednesday’s lamb skewer deal, but still solid. ✔ Skewers = delicious, but no heat retention—eat fast or they’ll cool down! 5️⃣ Mama's Dumpling & Coffee 🥟 ✔ BF says their pan-fried buns > Dong Tai Xiang (I slightly disagree, but both hit the spot). ✔ Scallion Oil Noodles – BF loved it; I found it a bit bland. ✔ Chili Wontons – Sesame-heavy, but I loved it (wanted to take leftover sauce home!). 6️⃣ Miss Fu In Chengdu 🌶️ ✔ Tried Burnaby location this time—same great taste, affordable. ✔ Brown Sugar Glutinous Rice Cakes – BETTER than LA’s top Sichuan spots! 💡 Final Notes ✅ Too many good spots—had to split into Richmond + Vancouver posts. ✅ Photos in order (addresses won’t fit—just Google Maps it!). #CanadaEats #FoodieRoadTrip #RichmondBC #VancouverFood #BestBites #NoRegrets
