What I Ate in San Antonio with $70 a Day 💸

I was in San Antonio for a work trip and made it my mission to spend my daily per diem – and honestly, the food prices felt a bit cheaper than California! 🎯 Day 1️⃣: Sichuan House ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Ordered via Doordash: Feng Cha ($33) 🧋 Sichuan House ($42) 🌶️ The spicy chicken and dry-fried green beans were unexpectedly amazing – totally delivered on flavor! Day 2️⃣: 🍧 Rise Up Acai ($17) ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Got the Kale Yeah bowl 🥣 – so refreshing after a month back in China! Added collagen, peanut butter, and goji berries for extra goodness. 🍤 Boudro’s ($62 per person) ⭐️⭐️ The coconut shrimp was a letdown – tasted like soap 🧼😵… But the Gulf Coast Seacake was pretty good and felt familiar for a Chinese palate. Day 3️⃣: Sichuan House (again!) ($40 per person) Yes, we went back! 🥢 Probably the best food we found in this culinary “desert” 🏜️: Fish fragrant eggplant 🍆 Dry pot 🥘 Sichuan cold noodles Mapo tofu Everything was fantastic – a bit salty but perfect with rice! 🍨 Hanamaru Cafe ($27) ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Their matcha is even better than Somi Somi’s! 🍵 Must-try: taiyaki with peanut butter filling 🥜🧇 – so good! Day 4️⃣: Hook & Reel Cajun Seafood ⭐️⭐️⭐️ ($50) Garlic butter crawfish 🦞 – under-seasoned, shells were too hard. Scallops were much better! Clam chowder was tasty 🥣, but the hushpuppies were just okay. #SanAntonioEats #FoodDiary #PerDiemLife #TexasFood #WorkTripEats #FoodReview
