AFTER GETTING HAIR IN MY FOOD I GOT NO REPLY. I RECOMMEND EATING AT RED HOOK THEY DONT HAVE HAIR AND THEY CARE ABOUT THEIR GUESTS. i used to look forward to coming here and i've only been one other time so i was super excited when i went last night, the food itself was soo good as well as our waitress. but, when i had first got my boil bag it was missing the corn and potatoes i asked the waitress who apologized and went to get some for me. they boiled them fresh (which i appreciate) but ofc it took a while, so i tied my hair up and started eating. when i finally got them they were delivered to me by a young blonde lady who i think is the manager on shift, as i started to eat the corn i found a super long blonde hair and was pulling it out of my mouth just as our waitress was walking by so of course she noticed and apologized. definitely ruined my appetite, i was so bummed. the manager had come back to also apologize but assure me the boil bag was tied up so it wasn't likely it was theirs. only... the hair didn't come from in the tied up boil bag. it came from the corn and potatoes that were brought to me on a open tray by someone who is blonde. also, as i mentioned i had my hair already tied back before even getting the corn and i'm also brunette... i really reallyyyy hate to complain or make a big deal. she offered to take off our $10 appetizer bc i had already finished most of my food, even though i got the hairy corn when i was almost done anyways. i do appreciate the $10 off, but i wish we could've at least taken off the items WITH THE ACTUAL HAIR??? i still paid for the hairy corn and potatoes. it was also mentioned to my boyfriend as i was in the restroom that they held the hair up to light and confirmed it was a blonde hair... i hate to make things hard for restaurant workers especially right now, so i just left the situation as is. i'm just super bummed about the whole experience bc i was so excited and i...
Read moreThe food quality has gotten better. It used to be amazing a few years ago!! Then a little over a year ago it suddenly wasn't up to par and the service went downhill. Decided to give it another try a few months ago and was happy with the new menu change. Service was better. But still needs improvement. Servers need to be more attentive. We saw our drinks sitting in the bar well for quite awhile before receiving them. Resulting in them being Luke warm/ melted vs cold and fresh. The kids drinks were empty fast and the server didn't notice them sitting at the edge of the table, waiting on a refill. My husband ordered a small side of extra spicy Cajun sauce WITH the food. She dropped off our food at the table, walked away and didn't come back for quite some time... Finally we were able to get the side of sauce nearly half way through our meal. (Which I feel, should have been comped) But honestly I just hope it was because she was new. All in all, its a really good place for really good cajun flavored seafood. Hopefully the service is more attentive.
Ps Mya was the best server we ever had there. So much so, that we would go on a bi-weekly basis. We were sad to hear when she was no longer there. Hoping the current and future servers can live up to her great customer service level.
A few Server tips... #1 is the 2 minute/2 bite rule. CHECK ON YOUR TABLE after 2 minutes or 2 bites to make sure they received everything. #2 Continue to check on your table every 5 -10 minutes (even if it's just making eye contact from across the room) #3 Always scan the table for empty drinks. #4 Remember that grown men and small children tend to drink soda fast.
I started in a restaurant as a host. Became a server. And ended up as The GM for over 7 years in the end. Customer Service and good food quality is...
Read moreI am hovering between 2-3 stars - I'll tell you why! Our server greeted us promptly (party of 2 and plenty of empty tables around us). However, they filled quickly and we immediately became the low person on the totem pole. Our drinks were totally empty 3 times (the third, we just left thirsty and had to get a soda on the way home). We ordered an appetizer - it came 30 minutes after our meal and only when I said, please never mind the crab fries. Our server said, Oh my gosh and then clearly went and ordered them for us. I really would rather have not been charged at this point. The final negative(s) - as another reviewer mentioned their sauces are prepackaged - including my salad dressing. I asked for a side salad with blue cheese. I was served a caeser salad with a container of blue cheese dressing. That in and of itself was a no thank you, but then the salad also had plastic in it (a dot or punch out, from the prepackaging it came in :( for the price, I would want a fresh salad, please). Our boil was served, seriously, in about 3 minutes. This is a positive. Another reason we did not need an appetizer - but the person dropped it and ran. We never saw our server. We had no napkins, no crab crackers, no utensils, no gloves, no sauces, lemon, etc. I finally asked the host after about 7 minutes (yes I timed it). They brought 2 crackers and napkins - nothing else. Finally, our server said there would not be fresh garlic in the option/sauce we chose. I have a sensitivity and so this matters. He was straight up wrong as the boil bag was FULL of garlic. On the positive, my son really enjoyed the spice level and taste of the shrimp, scallops and crab. On the negative, I didn't get my salad, I couldn't enjoy the seafood, the appetizer was VERY late and the...
