What I Ate in Vienna for a Week 🇦🇹🍽️
Spent a week in Vienna and tried some of the city’s most hyped spots—here’s the good, the bad, and the must-eats! 🚫 AVOID: Plachutta Wollzeile ❌ Overrated beef soup spot—skip it! (Details in my last post.) 🔥 MUST-GO: Figlmüller Bäckerstraße ✅ The BEST meal in Vienna! ✔ Wiener Schnitzel – crispy, flavorful, way better than expected! ✔ Potato salad – tastes like a Chinese cold dish (even non-potato lovers will enjoy). ✔ Beef goulash – tender meat, dip the dumplings in the sauce (Northern Chinese approved!). ✔ Service – super friendly (they apologized 3 times for a slight delay—this is tip-worthy service!). 📌 Book ahead! Always packed. 🍖 HIGHLIGHTS 1️⃣ Grnd Restaurant ✔ Pork ribs (Spareribs) – juicy & delicious! Right by the Opera House. 2️⃣ Reinthaler's Beisl ✔ Sausage with sauerkraut & fried potatoes – a bit salty but so good! Great beer too. 3️⃣ Ribs of Vienna ✔ Original, chili & ginger ribs – decent (for Europe 😅). Swap potatoes for fries! ✔ Beer – Kaiser & Radler are solid. 4️⃣ Centimeter ✔ Local pub with HUGE portions – order bread by the centimeter (fun for groups!). 🍰 SWEET TREATS 1️⃣ Demel ✔ Kaiserschmarrn (pancake) – takeaway is cheaper & skips the line! Not too sweet, better than Germany’s version. 2️⃣ Oberlaa ✔ Pancake – too doughy, Demel wins. 🌭 STREET FOOD LOVE ✔ Prater Park sausage stand – sausage obsession continues… Can’t wait to try Munich’s next! 💡 FINAL TIPS ✅ Book Figlmüller & Ribs of Vienna – they’re popular! ✅ Demel takeaway = smarter choice (skip the café queue). ❌ Plachutta Wollzeile = not worth it. #ViennaEats #FoodieTravel #SchnitzelLove #EatLikeALocal
