I have never written a bad review - but the atrocious experience I had at this restaurant is beyond deserving of a terrible rating.
Where to start ?
First of all, we had a reservation in advance which we arrived on time for, only to be greeted with a queue of about 20 people ahead of us. We thought it was people queuing for a free unreserved table, but everybody also had reservations for the same time, despite the restaurant being full. We had to wait an extra 20 minutes before being seated, which could have been worse, but it was just the beginning to a bad night.
Once we sat down, there was zero attention from the staff. It felt like they walked back and forth a million times before acknowledging us. It took a further 20 minutes for somebody to take our order. I could see many other tables of people becoming frustrated with being clearly ignored and made wait far too long for any attention. The food took another 20 minutes to come out, so at this point we weren’t eating until an hour after our reservation.
The food could have saved my experience here, but it didn’t. The fries came out undercooked. They were pale and hard, still half-frozen and simply inedible. Upon trying to grab attention from the staff to try ask for a replacement or solution, we were just ignored. The attentiveness is zero. The ribs were tough, hard to eat, dry and lacked flavour, which was made up for by just excessively covering it in marinade.
We sat in the main area of the restaurant, which is “air-conditioned” with a row of old fans. For the summer heat, this is NOT adequate. Even if the food was nice, the heat was sweltering hot, to the point we were struggling to eat anything. I could see many other people struggling with the heat and trying to desperately fan themselves with the menus. There needs to be some sort of air conditioning system put in place, as the temperature was beyond uncomfortable, and I found myself going to the bathroom upstairs just to try and get some cooler air.
Like other tables, we had to almost shout to grab the attention of anybody to bring us the bill. Upon paying, we made our complaints about the uncooked fries and the general atmosphere, since we couldn’t grab any attention throughout the entire meal to try and receive a replacement. The response was dismissive, a simple “oh I’m sorry”, and then still expected a tip.
The price we had to pay for inedible, uncooked fries, bland ‘ribs of Vienna’, dismissive staff, unbearable heat and terrible attitude is beyond ridiculous and disgraceful.
Ideally, I wouldn’t have paid for it at all, the combination of the quality of food and attitude of the staff is just not on.
I would tell anybody to seriously re-consider coming...
Read moreI went to eat at this restaurant on the evening of Sunday, June 15, 2025 — not for the first time. However, this time the experience was quite disappointing. When I arrived, I was greeted by a waiter in a white shirt without an apron, who seemed to be the manager. He was chewing food right in front of me and continued to do so while I asked for a table, saying, "Hi, we’re two."
Still chewing, he made some inappropriate and not-at-all-funny jokes like, "We’re two as well," pointing to another waiter or bartender — also chewing and laughing in my face, apparently just trying to impress the other guy. Maybe he thought he was being funny, but instead, he made me feel uncomfortable and out of place.
I don’t know if he was the manager or the owner’s son, but either way, he clearly has a lot to learn about customer service. I found him unprofessional, out of line, rude, and disrespectful. If he really wants to work in hospitality — or if he’s doing it just because he has to — he should at least act like he cares. The impression he gave was that he had no desire to be there.
It’s a shame because the girls who served us were kind, professional, and did a great job. I only stayed because it wasn’t my first time at the restaurant, but I’m leaving one star because that kind of "welcome" made my blood boil.
I come from a professional hospitality background myself, and I can say with certainty I would never treat a customer that way. I hope this review is taken as constructive criticism, because working in this field requires seriousness and attention to detail. Even something small can make a customer decide to never come back — and that’s exactly what I’ll do. I...
Read moreI think this is a restaurant that anyone visiting Vienna should visit at least once. Every time I have the opportunity to visit Vienna, I always go to this place. With just the first try, the dish here conquered me with its rich sauce. I also always recommend it to my friends every time they say they are going to visit Vienna. The food here can be said to be extremely suitable for my taste. The ribs are marinated and grilled just right. There are some rib marinades that are always in my top favorites and must be chosen every time I come to the restaurant, which are traditional flavors (marinated according to the restaurant's own style), garlic flavor and Hawaiian flavor (this one also according to your opinion). However, the restaurant space will be quite small and located in the basement, so it is important to reserve a table in advance. It is the best to book a table at least 1 or 2 days before in advance to be sure because the restaurant will always be full if you book too close to the time or worse, there are no more seats. Besides, considering ordering is also a thing to consider because the portion here is also very big. 1 serving can eat from 2 to 3 people depending on the eating capacity. However, the prices of the dishes are also very reasonable and also the drink is really tasty. And also the waiting time for the ribs takes a little bit long, so if it could, please order it as soon as possible. If you have chance to visit Vienna, I think, this is one of the muss try...
