What to eat for a birthday dinner in Seattle - WatarušŸ£

December is truly the season for plump and delicious fish, and I’m lucky to have a birthday this month /a blessing for the palate is a blessing indeed, a big blessing šŸ˜‹ Let me share Wataru’s December menu with you ā¬†ļø The price for two, including default gratuity and tax, is over 500+ /$185 per person. The pursuit of environment and experience in Japanese cuisine is the most comfortable. The fish in winter is plump and full of oil, each piece of fish given is quite generous, the ratio of fish to rice is almost a surprising 4:1 /an hour after eating, I’m still in a rice coma 😵 But apart from the dessert which I didn’t like and didn’t finish, I ate it all up. I feel the chef’s control over portioning is also great. The atmosphere during the meal was great; it was all foreigners tonight, having casual chats here and there. I even got to know a couple sitting next to me. They joked that Asian people are friendly about everything except when it comes to food and restaurants, where they can be quite mean. I couldn’t agree more. Recommendations for good restaurants in Bellevue are not to be missed. We chatted so well that the two hours flew by. In the end, we exchanged contact info /my E-personality was at full force, and I was happy 😃 I feel Wataru is more of a traditional kaiseki-style Omakase, mainly focusing on Sushi. Overall, it feels like a straight-A student, with good taste, ingredients, and environment. It’s a bit short on ā€œrebellion and innovation,ā€ but it’s already so delicious that I feel happy ā˜ŗļø /after all, having worked in the disciple of the sushi god’s restaurant for so many years, maybe he started out cooking rice too. All the rules are engraved in the DNA, haha #Seattle #SeattleFood #SeattleRestaurantHunting #JapaneseCuisine #omakase #SeattleRestaurantRecommendations #Sushi #Wataru #BirthdayRestaurant #Birthday
