What to Eat in Alaska⁉️ Fairbanks Edition

📍 Fairbanks 1⃣️ The Crepery 🌟🌟🌟 A super popular local crepe spot! 🥞 Tried the strawberry crepe and the crab meat crepe—one sweet and one savory, both were good! Personally liked the sweet one better. ☕️ The hot cocoa was nice too, but feels like every place here serves hot cocoa at this level. 2⃣️ Aurora Crepes & Peking Duck 🌟🌟🌟🌟 Surprisingly delicious—we even ordered takeout twice! 🦆 While the Peking duck crepe is famous, we found the lamb one even better! 🌶️ We chose "spicy"—if you can’t handle heat, go for mild. Their sweet crepes are also great if you’re craving something sweet. 3⃣️ Soul Gate Restaurant 🌟🌟🌟 Everyone says this is the best Korean food in Fairbanks, but I thought it was just okay. 😅 Portions are big though! The best part was the complimentary side dishes. 🍚 The stone pot bibimbap and army stew were pretty good, but the jjajangmyeon was meh. The grilled beef was too sweet, and the stir-fried seafood lacked wok hei. Still, if you’re craving Korean, it’s worth a try. 4⃣️ Thai House 🌟🌟🌟 My expectations were maybe too high for this one. 📖 Saw on Xiaohongshu that the beef salad was great, but the meat was super tough—though the flavor was nice. 🍜 Pad Thai was average. The yellow curry was good, but the green curry was too sweet. 🥤 The milk tea was also very sweet—not as good as the one from Lemongrass later. 5⃣️ The Pump House 🌟🌟🌟 A decades-old Fairbanks restaurant! 🏠 Right at the entrance, there’s a huge brown bear标本. 🐻 We ordered lamb chops, reindeer sausage & clams, salmon steak, seafood fried rice, and chowder. 🍖 The lamb chops were flavorful, clams were sweet and fresh, and the reindeer sausage wasn’t gamey. 🐟 The salmon steak and seafood fried rice were good too, but there was a bit too much cheese—got a little heavy toward the end. Still, a must-visit local spot! 📅 Remember to make a reservation! 6⃣️ Ajimi Japanese Restaurant 🌟🌟🌟🌟 We randomly found this Japanese spot after snowmobiling, and it was such a pleasant surprise! 🍣 Great value for money! Highly recommend the Hawaii Poke Bowl—the salmon and tuna were super fresh! 🍱 There were also lots of roll options: Island Roll, Mountain Roll, and the first one on the Special Roll page were all delicious. 7⃣️ Lemongrass Thai 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 Our last meal of the trip and unexpectedly the BEST! 😍 Every dish was amazing. We tried the daily special—a sweet and sour duck dish that was incredible. 🦆 The Pad Thai tasted like stir-fried rice noodles—loved it! 🥤 The milk tea was less sweet and totally surprised us. #FairbanksFood #Alaska #AlaskaTravel #USA #USATravel #StudyAbroad #Fairbanks #DogSledding #FairbanksGuide #Christmas #StudentLife #ArcticCircle #SnowPhotos #Glacier #GlacierPhotos #Winter #AnchorageGuide #AlaskaGuide #Aurora #NorthernLights #FairbanksPhotos #AlaskaPhotos
