What to Eat in Mostar? Taste ALL of Bosnia in One Pot!

📍 Sadrvan Restaurant (By the Old Bridge) We’d already eaten dinner, but the traditional decor drew us in! Unlike other formal spots, servers wear vibrant folk costumes – felt like stepping into a Balkan film set. (Pics 4-6) 🌟 The Star: "Nacionalna plata Sadrvan" (€60) A massive Balkan feast platter for two – every bite tells a story! 🍽️ DISH-BY-DISH BREAKDOWN 1️⃣ Klepe Bosnian "dumplings in yogurt" – sounds wild, but think Chinese sour soup dumplings! Mild tang, silky yogurt. Surprisingly addictive! 2️⃣ Japrak "Greek dolma's Balkan cousin": Grape leaves stuffed with spiced rice-meat mix. Bite-sized, pop-able, utterly moreish! 3️⃣ Fried Beef Patties Flattened croquettes with a crispy shell. Filling but slightly dry (bread-heavy mix). 4️⃣ Dolma (Stuffed Veggies) Packed with halal beef/lamb! Green pepper + onion versions. So hefty, each needs 4 bites! 💪 5️⃣ Hadžijski Ćevapi (Braised Meat) Hidden gems in mini pots: Beef & lamb stews – zero gaminess! Meat-lover’s dream... just wish there was more! 😂 6️⃣ "Bosnian Pilaf" + Veggie Sides Short-grain rice fried in rich fat (no broth needed!). Twist: Served with pea-vegetable stew + tomato-acidic relish. ⚠️ Note: Rice was slightly al dente – may be local style! 7️⃣ Yogurt Dip Creamy, tangy, and essential! Served solo for meat-dipping. Proof of Bosnia’s yogurt obsession (thanks, neighboring Greece!). ✨ THE EXPERIENCE Portion: Easily feeds 2+ hungry travelers! Finale: Sip Bosnian coffee (€4) – strong, thick, and ritualistic. ☕️ Vibe: Folk music, stone walls, costumed servers – pure Bosnian immersion. 📌 PRACTICAL TIPS Book? Walk-in friendly, but arrive early for bridge views. Price: €60 platter + €4 coffee = ~124 KM (excellent value!). Diet Note: 100% halal (beef/lamb/chicken only). Last Bite: "This isn’t just dinner – it’s a carnivorous, carb-loaded love letter to Bosnia!" ❤️ 📍 Sadrvan: Near Stari Most (Old Bridge), Mostar #MostarEats #BosnianFeast #BalkanFood #HiddenGemMostar #FoodieTravel #EatLikeALocal #BosniaHerzegovina #MostarFoodGuide #CulturalDining
