What to Eat in San Diego | A Hunan Restaurant I Keep Coming Back To!

Not sure what to eat in San Diego? Today, I want to share a Hunan restaurant I visit again and again—Village Kitchen. Once you fall in love with Hunan cuisine, it's hard to stop, and this spot has become my go-to place❤️. My must-orders are Dongting “A Bowl of Fragrance” and Signature Stir-Fried Pork. The stir-fried pork is a classic, while “A Bowl of Fragrance” adds a fried egg for extra richness—both are perfect with rice😋. The Dry Pot Organic Cauliflower is another favorite, stir-fried with lard for an irresistible aroma🌶️. I also love the Clay Pot Tofu. Served sizzling hot, the tofu simmers in a savory sauce, and a spoonful over rice is pure comfort🍚. Recently, I tried the Green Pepper Pork Trotter Cubes, which was a delightful surprise—tender, chewy, and without any unpleasant taste✨. The Mashed Eggplant with Century Egg is bold and flavorful, ideal for those who enjoy strong tastes~The Dongting Stir-Fried Beef Tenderloin is quite spicy but incredibly satisfying🔥. The Hot and Sour Potato Shreds are stir-fried with a mild tang and numbing spice, offering a lighter option; the Hot and Sour Chicken Gizzards were a bit too sour for me, but my friend loved them🍋. During my visit, a neighboring table recommended the Steamed Pork Belly with Jianggang Mountain Bamboo Shoots—it smelled amazing, and I can’t wait to try it next time! My friend also enjoys the Stone Pot Bullfrog, so if you like frog legs, give it a try🐸. The restaurant has a cozy atmosphere and authentic dishes—highly recommended for Hunan cuisine lovers! 📍Address: 4720 Clairemont Mesa Blvd, San Diego, CA 92117 #SanDiegoFood #HunanCuisine #VillageKitchen #FoodShare #ComfortFood #ChineseRestaurant #MustTryList
