What to Eat in Seattle
📍 Cactus Bellevue Square I’ve walked past this Mexican restaurant at Bellevue Square so many times but never went in. I was planning to eat at Cantina, but since I’ve been there several times, I decided to try this place instead. The prices were cheaper than I expected, with most dishes costing around $10-$20, quite affordable. This time, I ordered Camarones D’ El Diablo, which are devil shrimp, topped with fried shrimp and a salad on the side, comes with extra barbecue sauce. Pablo’s Special, I chose the chicken and bacon Mexican sandwich with salad (soup is also an option). The sandwich is sprinkled with green onions. I also ordered Baja Fish tacos, fried fish, and a snack, fry bread. The devil shrimp are a snack, basically fried shrimp with sauce. The shrimp were delicious, and the sauce that comes with it was better than the barbecue sauce. I wouldn’t recommend adding extra sauce; the combination of one bite of shrimp and one bite of salad is delightful. The sandwich was also delicious, with plenty of cheese inside, and the salad was filled with chicken and bacon, a good portion. The fish tacos were okay; the fish didn’t have much flavor, but there were a lot of toppings. You have to eat it all together and try not to spill anything 😂. I didn’t like the rice and beans that came with it. The fry bread came with cinnamon butter, which was sweet and creamy when spread on, kind of like the bread at Texas Roadhouse. Recommended! The dishes here are rarely sour or spicy; the tangiest thing might be the salad that comes with the sandwich, which suits most people’s tastes. Since I told the waiter it was my first time, they even gave us a Cuban Flan dessert at the end. It had a jelly-like texture and was tasty but very sweet 😂. I was full, so I didn’t eat much of it.
