Wheat Field Journey｜3-Day 2-Night Spokane Itinerary 🌾🚗

Day One 📍 Scenic Overlook of the Columbia River Breathtaking views, but super windy! 💨🌄 📍 Wild Horse Scenic View Area Two trails: one steep gravel path straight up 🪨⬆️, and a slightly gentler side path—but both are challenging. Loose rocks made us nervous, so we didn’t make it to the top 😅 📍 Frenchman Coulee Magnificent basalt columns and canyon views 🏞️⚒️ 📍 Palouse Falls Stunning waterfall! Note: The road into the state park is unpaved and a bit rough 🚗💨 🍕 Lunch at a surprisingly delicious pizza spot in Othello 🏡✨ 🏨 Stayed at Best Western Wheatland Inn in Colfax – right across from a grocery store 🛒🌙 Day Two 📍 Marvin Wells Rd A highly recommended scenic drive 🛣️📸. By mid-July, the wheat had turned golden yellow 🟡🌾 mixed with patches of green – gorgeous, but not the full Windows desktop vibe (come in spring for that!) 📍 Kamiak Butte County Park Since Steptoe Butte is still closed, we hiked the Kamiak Butte Trail instead 🥾⛰️ – peaceful and beautiful! 📍 Manito Park Loved the Rose Garden 🌹 and Duncan Garden – so photogenic and serene! 📍 Riverfront Park Waterfalls right in downtown! 💦🏙️ Street parking available ~$2+/hr. 📍 Historic Davenport Hotel A gorgeous, historic hotel with stunning interior design 🏨✨ 📍 Spokane County Courthouse Looks like a Disney castle from the outside! 🏰💫 📍 Gonzaga University Took a relaxing stroll around the campus 🎓🍃 📍 Bowl & Pitcher A must-visit! Cross the bridge and relax by the river – listening to the water was so calming 🌊😌 🍜 Lunch at Kim’s Korean Restaurant – okay, but not worth a special visit. 🏨 Stayed at Ruby River Hotel in Downtown Spokane 🌆 Day Three 📍 Crown Point Vista Viewed the Grand Coulee Dam – the largest dam in the U.S.! 🇺🇸🛑💧 📍 Dry Falls Vista House Explored the remains of an ancient dried-up waterfall 🏜️🌵 📍 Lake Lenore Caves Trailhead Wanted to see ice caves, but no ice in summer 😅⛰️ 🚗 Then headed #Home 🏡❤️ #Seattle #SeattleLife #Spokane #WheatFields #RoadTrip #WashingtonState #TravelDiary
