Wheat Field Journeyο½3-Day 2-Night Spokane Itinerary πΎπ
Day One π Scenic Overlook of the Columbia River Breathtaking views, but super windy! π¨π π Wild Horse Scenic View Area Two trails: one steep gravel path straight up πͺ¨β¬οΈ, and a slightly gentler side pathβbut both are challenging. Loose rocks made us nervous, so we didnβt make it to the top π π Frenchman Coulee Magnificent basalt columns and canyon views ποΈβοΈ π Palouse Falls Stunning waterfall! Note: The road into the state park is unpaved and a bit rough ππ¨ π Lunch at a surprisingly delicious pizza spot in Othello π‘β¨ π¨ Stayed at Best Western Wheatland Inn in Colfax β right across from a grocery store ππ Day Two π Marvin Wells Rd A highly recommended scenic drive π£οΈπΈ. By mid-July, the wheat had turned golden yellow π‘πΎ mixed with patches of green β gorgeous, but not the full Windows desktop vibe (come in spring for that!) π Kamiak Butte County Park Since Steptoe Butte is still closed, we hiked the Kamiak Butte Trail instead π₯Ύβ°οΈ β peaceful and beautiful! π Manito Park Loved the Rose Garden πΉ and Duncan Garden β so photogenic and serene! π Riverfront Park Waterfalls right in downtown! π¦ποΈ Street parking available ~$2+/hr. π Historic Davenport Hotel A gorgeous, historic hotel with stunning interior design π¨β¨ π Spokane County Courthouse Looks like a Disney castle from the outside! π°π« π Gonzaga University Took a relaxing stroll around the campus ππ π Bowl & Pitcher A must-visit! Cross the bridge and relax by the river β listening to the water was so calming ππ π Lunch at Kimβs Korean Restaurant β okay, but not worth a special visit. π¨ Stayed at Ruby River Hotel in Downtown Spokane π Day Three π Crown Point Vista Viewed the Grand Coulee Dam β the largest dam in the U.S.! πΊπΈππ§ π Dry Falls Vista House Explored the remains of an ancient dried-up waterfall ποΈπ΅ π Lake Lenore Caves Trailhead Wanted to see ice caves, but no ice in summer π β°οΈ π Then headed #Home π‘β€οΈ #Seattle #SeattleLife #Spokane #WheatFields #RoadTrip #WashingtonState #TravelDiary
