When Friends Visit Seattle, Here's What I Take Them To Do 🌟

Having lived in Seattle for over a year, I’ve hosted quite a few friends and curated a go-to itinerary that highlights the city’s natural beauty and laid-back vibe. Here’s my tried-and-true plan—perfect for travelers looking for inspiration! Day 1️⃣ 📍 Mountain Views from Afar 🏔️ Dune Peninsula or Lake Tapps Park I usually stop here right after picking friends up from the airport—it’s a scenic and relaxing introduction to the area. Stunning views that everyone loves! 📍 Pike Place Market A must-visit! If you want to grab souvenirs from the first Starbucks, try going on a weekday—weekend lines can get crazy. ☕ 📍 Gas Works Park Perfect for a casual stroll or a cozy picnic with friends. Just watch out for duck poop! 🦆😅 📍 Kerry Park (Optional) A quick photo spot—great for capturing the skyline, but you’ll likely only spend a few minutes here. 📸 📍 The Spheres (Optional) Worth a visit if you can snag a reservation or know someone at Amazon who can give you a tour! 🌿 📍 Evening Walk (Optional) After dinner, catch the sunset and take a relaxing walk: Eastside dining → Kirkland (from Marina Park to Marsh Park) Downtown → Green Lake Park South Seattle → Seward Park Day 2️⃣ 📍 Mount Rainier 🏞️ A day trip to Mount Rainier is a must! Try to go on a weekday to avoid crowds and parking hassles. (Skip this during winter unless you’re prepared for snow!) Day 3️⃣ 📍 Ferry Ride + Island Hopping 🚢 An essential Seattle experience! Enjoy skyline views, snap photos, and if you’re lucky, spot orcas. Ferry tickets are affordable and totally worth it. 🚗 If you have a car and time: Whidbey Island: Go during coral shrimp season and treat your friends to Shrimp Shack! 🍤 Bainbridge Island: On the return ferry, you’ll see the Space Needle and Great Wheel. 🎡 🚶 No car or short on time? Pier 50 → Bremerton (round-trip ferry) Pier 50 → West Seattle (water taxi) Day 4️⃣/5️⃣/6️⃣ If it’s Sunday, I love taking friends to the Ballard Farmers Market for tasty bites and unique local shops. 🧀🍎 Other seasonal activities to consider: 🏄 Paddleboarding 🎥 Outdoor Movies 🌾 Visiting Wheat Fields 🦪 Clam Digging 🥾 Hiking 🎣 Squid Fishing 🍱 Food Festivals 🎿 Skiing ⛺ Camping That’s my go-to Seattle guide! What are your must-visit spots when showing friends around? Let me know—I’d love more ideas! 💬 #SeattleLife #SeattleTravel #SeattleWeekend #SeattleSurroundings #Seattle
