🍂 Where to Go for the Holidays? Let’s Hit Highway 395 for Fall Colors

One of California’s most beautiful autumn destinations has to be Highway 395 🍂. Last year in early October, James and I took four USC grad students on this trip – and we had an absolute blast! This year, we’re doing it again! 🥳 3-Day, 2-Night Itinerary: Day 1 Depart from LA and drive 5 hours to North Lake – the famous location featured in the macOS High Sierra wallpaper! The gradient-colored mountains, clear lake water, and golden leaves along the shore 🍁 will make you appreciate nature as the ultimate artist. Once there, you can relax by the lake or hike the Grass Lake Trail (moderate difficulty, 4 km round trip). Stay overnight at Juniper Spring Resort 🏨 in Mammoth Village or similar. Day 2 First stop: Conway Summit – the highest viewpoint along Highway 395 ⛰️, offering panoramic views of Mono Basin and breathtaking fall colors. Second stop: Mono Lake – explore the iconic South Tufa area. Third stop: Silver Lake – a charming little lake at the foot of the mountains, with old-fashioned charm in the nearby shops. Fourth stop: June Lake – choose between kayaking 🛶 or hiking the Parker Lake Trail (approx. 6 km round trip). Return to town for dinner 🍽️, then back to the hotel to rest. Day 3 After breakfast, head to my personal favorite: Convict Lake. Walk the 4 km loop trail 👣, enjoying views of the lake, snow-capped mountains, and forest reflections 🌲 – perfect for photos! Last time, we even spotted a bald eagle here! 🦅 Lunch in the town of Bishop – don’t miss Erick Schat’s Bakery, a century-old shop famous for its sourdough bread. Return to Los Angeles, wrapping up a joyful journey! 🎉 📅 Trips available from September 19 to October 10 Sign up with a group of 4 and we’re good to go! 🚐 Private car options also available – including a super cool Cybertruck! We’ll guide you through hiking, boating, and even help take photos or vlog footage! 🎥 Spots are limited – so don’t wait! 🙋 We’re UP JOURNEY ✨ – we only lead deep, slow-paced trips that we’ve experienced ourselves. This fall, let’s wander slowly, capture moments gently, and pack our memories with the surprise of red leaves and the warmth of the sun. ☀️🍁 Have you traveled Highway 395 in the fall?
