Where to Go This Weekend | Austin, Texas Travel Guide

I was on a business trip to Dallas in February and took the opportunity of a long weekend to visit Austin! A three-day, two-night trip was just perfect, and it’s a great place for a long weekend getaway. I really loved it—it’s a vibrant and romantic city. 🌆 Recommended Attractions : 🔸 Ann and Roy Butler Trail The best City Walk route! Start from Zilker Park, follow the river to Lou Neff Point, and then to Butler Metro Park for stunning night skyline views. 🔸 The Oasis - Lake Travis Come here to enjoy a drink 🍸 and watch the sunset! The atmosphere is great and the lake is beautiful. 🔸 Texas Capitol There are guided tours every day to visit the inside of the Capitol and learn about Texas history. 🔸 Blanton Museum of Art An incredibly photogenic museum! It’s located right behind the Capitol and is probably Austin’s most famous landmark. ⚠️ Note that the adjacent glass pavilion was under repair and not open to the public during my visit. 🔸 Sixth Street A street full of bars! There are live houses, jazz clubs, and all sorts of entertainment options. 🔸 Lady Bird Lake Great for kayaking and paddleboarding. 🔸 UT Austin Located right next to the museum, it’s worth a visit if you have time. 🏨 Hotel Recommendation Hyatt Centric Congress Avenue Austin I really loved the bright and minimalist style of this hotel, with floor-to-ceiling windows offering great city views. The location is perfect, within walking distance to the Capitol, UT Austin, and Sixth Street. The breakfast was also delicious! #Austin #Texas #Workcation #StudentTravel
