Who Says Alaska Is a Food Desert?
Who Says Alaska Is a Food Desert? Just Follow Me for Great Eats! 🍽️ Before heading to Alaska, I read several bloggers calling it a "food desert," especially outside Anchorage—some even suggested packing extra pizza before going to Seward 🍕😅. But as a food blogger who's eaten around Alaska, I found that totally untrue. On the contrary, Alaska is full of delicious surprises! 😋✨ Here’s a regional guide to my top recommended spots: Anchorage 📍 Snow City Cafe Their Eggs Benedict are absolutely delicious—on par with top brunch spots in NYC! 🥚🍞 📍 Bisuit Club Another breakfast gem! Hearty gravy with meat patties and crispy biscuits—maybe even better than Snow City! 🥓🧇 📍 Glacier Brewhouse A bit overhyped but still good. We tried steak and king crab legs—nothing mind-blowing, but no disappointments either. 🥩🦀 📍 Moose's Tooth Pub & Pizzeria Honestly… overrated. Just average. 🍕😐 Seward 📍 Flamingo Lounge Locals say this and The Cookery are like "the top two rivals in Seward" 🏔️🤝. Must-try: their cocktails and halibut—rumored to be the best in Alaska! 🍸🐟 Denali The most surprising food destination—Denali is amazingly tasty! 📍 Moose-AKa's One of my top 3 restaurants in all of Alaska! 😍 A Serbian spot serving various European dishes. Their famous schnitzel (Viennese-style) is even better than what I had in Austria! 🐷🍴 📍 49th State Brewing I ordered king crab everywhere (treating myself! 🤑), and theirs was the BEST! The crab legs were thicker than my wrist—massive and meaty. Dipped in butter, each bite was pure heaven 🦀🧈… so rich and flavorful that even a little felt indulgent. I’m still dreaming about it days later! Their king salmon and other dishes were also fantastic—no disappointments here! Fairbanks Fewer surprises here compared to other places, but aside from the usual recommendations: 📍 Lavelle's Bistro Shrimp and bread were decent. 🍤🍞 📍 Fushimi Japanese Pretty disappointing—just average Japanese fare. 🍣😕 #AlaskaTrip#AlaskaTravel
